Análisis de Fourier

Ce TP a pour objectif de prendre en main le logiciel MATLAB. Les notions traitées sont la manipulation de variables aléatoires et de vecteurs, l’utilisation de fonctions, la représentation graphique, la génération de nombres aléatoires, le calcul d’écart-type de la variance, le calcul de la variance et la corrélation et la génération des signaux aléatoires en utilisant des systèmes linéaires invariants dans le temps. En ce qui concerne la 2 ème  partie, on étudie les propriétés du filtrage adaptatif (filtre de Wiener) en utilisant l’algorithme LMS.

Uma sinopse sobre séries ortogonais generalizadas (e.g. Legendre-Fourier), com ênfase na representação trigonométrica de Fourier, é introduzida. A apresentação envolve o fenômeno de Gibbs, e critérios para a convergência de séries (condições de Dirichlet, teorema de Fourier, teorema de Fejér). Implicações do “Reino de Fourier” na Engenharia Acústica: consonâncias & dissonâncias, instrumentos musicais.  Apresenta-se a teoria dos tapers de Tukey, a janela de Lanczos e o uso da série de Fourier para modelar fractais determinísticos. A passagem para o contínuo conduz à transformada de Fourier, cujas propriedades são revisadas. O princípio da incerteza de Gabor-Heisenberg é conectado à teoria de Fourier. Cálculos computacionais do espectro conduzem à transformada discreta de Fourier (DFT) e mecanismos para o cálculo eficiente do espectro (algoritmos rápidos). Os resultados de Heidman sobre complexidade multiplicativa para a DFT são apresentados. A análise espectral clássica evolui: a análise moderna com base em wavelets funciona ligada à abordagem Fourier. O teorema da amostragem é discutido, com uma demonstração do tipo “viva Fourier”, assim como o teorema 2BT sobre dimensionalidade de sinais. Aplicações modernas na descontaminação de sinais são argumentadas sob enfoque pragmático. A adaptação da análise de Fourier para sinais estocásticos conduz às séries estocásticas de Fourier, e expansões de Kahunen-Loève. Até a modelagem não-linear para sistemas com base em séries de Volterra é apresentada. Por fim, o reino de Fourier conquista definitivamente o mundo finito e digital, migrando para a transformada de Fourier de corpo finito (transformada de Galois-Fourier).

Apoiando-se no método marxista, Henrique Wellen analisou a função social da "economia solidária" nas suas relações com as determinações do capitalismo brasileiro atual. Além de expor seus principais pressupostos teóricos e metodológicos, o autor pesquisou diversos tipos de empreendimentos a partir de suas conexões com outros projetos sociais atualmente relevantes, como o "terceiro setor". Foram examinadas as condições de trabalho dentro dessas organizações, assim como suas relações com o mercado capitalista e, no que concerne à transformação social, Wellen demonstrou que a "economia solidária" representa um retrocesso na luta dos trabalhadores contra os imperativos do capital. Além de contribuir para o debate sobre esse projeto social, "Para a crítica da 'economia solidária'" conduz a uma importante reflexão na luta coletiva pela construção de uma sociedade emancipada.

Axioms are presented which demonstrate that our system of Cartesian coordinates evolved from the Pythagorean concept of ratio, which arose from the discovery that the integers corresponded to the harmonies produced by a stretched string. It was here were we find the seminal connection being made between number and nature and, hence, the birth of science. These are the harmonic analogues to the Euclidean axioms of geometry but are about two millennia overdue. However, Pythagoras' discovery has been forgotten in physics and consequently it has not recognised that these ratios not only form the very foundation of modern wave theory, including Fourier analysis, but also of the space and time axes themselves. For it is shown that if the equations that describe wave motions are to be correct, then space and time cannot be regarded as 'independent variables' at all for a wave will always supply its own measure of space and time in the form of its wavelength and period. Once this is seen then the entire facade of metaphysical 'space and time' begins to crumble. For example, differentiation and integration with respect to space and time can always and in principle be substituted by operations involving ratios and wavenumber or frequency and 'space and time' (or the variables x and t) completely disappear from the equations. After the axioms are given and their consequences developed, the conclusion is clear; our sense of space and time grew from our collected experiences of periodicities or regularities within nature and it is these which make up the laws of physics. it is why they appear as 'eternal' or 'timeless'. The universe is no longer described by the motion of points in an a priori Cartesian coordinate system but by the fact that these axes themselves represent the class of wavenumbers and frequencies of observable wave phenomena. And special relativity is no exception: Einstein's definition of time dilation, as opposed to length contraction, contravenes the principle of relativity with respect to wave motion. It was (albeit unconsciously) biased to agree with the particle-like picture of the universe handed down from classical kinematics.

una forma diferente de ver las series y transformadas de Fourier y como sabemos la transformada de Fourier es un caso particular de la transformada de Laplace por lo que igual funciona, en este método se la solución a la integral principal por medio de integración por partes y se desarrolla un amplio desarrollo de múltiples funciones

Este artículo analiza el proyecto societario impulsado por Charles Fourier a comienzos del siglo XIX como un ensayo de política corporal que encuentra en la re-configuración del espacio y en el libre fluir de las pasiones humanas uno de los caminos "libertarios" para la instauración de un orden social alternativo frente al triunfo de la razón industrial. Se sostiene que tal formulación comporta un avance hacia una lectura de lo social, lo espacial y lo emocional como inseparables en el marco de las relaciones de dominación, de ahí su relevancia en términos de una sociología de los cuerpos y las emociones. En primer lugar, se presentan los supuestos sobre los que se asienta el modelo de asociación por atracción pasional propuesto por este autor en respuesta a los conflictos que despunta el ascenso del orden industrial. En segundo lugar, se efectúa una sintética aproximación al Falansterio, en tanto enclave socio-espacial diseñado por Fourier como el recinto más apropiado para re-tramar el vínculo social en base al libre despliegue de las pasiones humanas. Finalmente, se presentan algunas reflexiones en torno a las relaciones entre pasiones y políticas corporales que anidan en las formulaciones de este autor decimonónico.

La historia de las emociones proporciona una serie de conceptos y teorías útiles para el análisis del romanticismo, considerándolo como algo más que un movimiento artístico, literario y cultural, tal vez un verdadero régimen emocional que hizo cambiar a Europa y América tanto como las otras revoluciones de su época, las de carácter político y económico. El artículo aplica esa perspectiva a un estudio de caso: el del grupo de mujeres de Cádiz que sostuvieron cinco periódicos sucesivos en la ciudad entre 1856 y 1866. Y muestra que la filiación de aquellas publicaciones en el movimiento del socialismo utópico de raíz fourierista fue sobrevenida, así como su paralela militancia feminista. Fue la sensibilidad romántica de aquel grupo la que lo mantuvo unido como una comunidad emocional y le dotó de una afinidad con las ideas de Charles Fourier.

The well-known Fresnel integral relates a known complex wave defined in the object plane (the input wave field) to the observable complex wave (the output wave field) defined in the image plane after free-space propagation; this means that if the object and image plane are parallel to each other, corresponding imaging system is said to be linear-shift-invariant (LSI). This advantageous property was essential for the development of phase sensitive imaging techniques; however, if the image plane is inclined with respect to the incident beam, the effective propagation distance will vary over the image plane, consequently, the imaging system is not shiftinvariant. In this paper an extension of the theoretical formalism of Fresnel diffraction to the case of an inclined image plane is proposed using the fractional Fourier transform.

The Fourier transform scantly requires to be motivated, given its unique role in science, technology, and arts as well as many other areas. Since we very rarely have the access to symbolic descriptions of real-world signals, these are often represented as vectors after being time truncated and sampled. The discrete Fourier transform (DFT) is then typically applied in order to obtain a vector corresponding to an estimate of the respective Fourier transform. Despite its simplicity and possibility of effective implementations (e.g. FFT), the DFT very often yields results affected by aliasing and/or ripple, two unwanted effects caused by the time windowing and sampling of the original signals. These effects can be substantial, yielding considerable imaginary parts even for purely real even signals, which should have purely real and even transforms. In this work, we describe the compact Fourier transform (CFT) as a theoretical construct to be applied when symbolic descriptions of the signals of interest are available. This method has the advantage of providing exact results, incorporating on the original frequencies and respective amplitudes. Though of little practical use, the CFT paves the way to a respective discrete implementation, which we called the almost continuous discrete Fourier transform (ACDFT), which is capable of achieving highly accurate frequency-based of purely real signals even in cases where the involved frequencies do not perfectly fit in the adopted truncation and sampling. An example of the application of this method to instantaneous signal analysis is also provide in order to briefly illustrate the potential of the reported concepts and methodology.

Resumen: Los objetivos de un observador espectral son dos: la reconstrucción de una señal variante en el tiempo y la descomposición de dicha señal en las frecuencias que la componen. Un observador espectral puede ser catalogado como un algoritmo en línea para el análisis tempo-frecuencial de señales, ya que es un método con el que se puede calcular la transformada de Fourier de una señal conforme se tiene información sobre ella, es decir, sin tener la señal completa. La contribución principal de este trabajo es la presentación de un observador espectral de alta ganancia para reconstruir señales con variaciones de frecuencia en el tiempo mediante la estimación de los coeficientes de una serie de Fourier finita en forma exponencial. El procedimiento de diseño del observador espectral se presenta junto con dos ejemplos de aplicación, así como un análisis comparativo entre el observador espectral de alta ganancia y un método bastante conocido para el análisis tempo-frecuencial: la transformada de Fourier de tiempo reducido.

Music is an intrinsic human activity which provides almost unparalleled grounds for diversity and creativity. In this work, we approach the concept of a single frequency note, which can be considered one of the basic components of music. Two main related aspects are introduced, illustrated and discussed: the sinusoidal function with a basic frequency, and the envelope that can be used to modulate the amplitude of that basic tone. Concepts such as temperament and scales are briefly discussed with respect to the specification of the frequencies of single tones. Several aspects of envelope modulation are addressed, including the characterization of its four traditional portions (i.e. attack, decay, sustain and release), as well as how each of these components acts and can be chosen. A complementary mathematical discussion of the envelope amplitude modulation in the frequency domain, as allowed by the Fourier transform, is also provided, paving the way for the identification of more subtle aspects of modulated single frequency notes.

Start-up thin film flow of fluids of grade three over a vertical longitudinally oscillating solid wall in a porous medium is investigated. The governing non-linear partial differential equation representing the momentum balance is solved by the Fourier-Galerkin approximation. The effect of the porosity, material constants as well as oscillations on the drainage rate and flow enhancement is explored and clarified.
