A PID controller satellite attitude yaw-axis control system was designed to step the angle of the satellite body via actuating a precise angular position of a DC motor as quickly and accurately as most optimally possible. The (PID) controller was advantageously chosen for its quick transient response and zero steady-state error. A mathematical model has been derived for the whole satellite attitude yaw-axis control system. Then, the computation power of the MATLAB is utilized to obtain a generalized optimal controller design that enables the satellite attitude yaw-axis control system to have the quickest settling time without excessive overshoot and zero steady state error.

In this paper we present a phenomenological approach to describe a complex systemcolon; scientific research impact through Citation Mining. The novel concept of Citation Mining, a combination of citation bibliometrics and text mining, is used for the phenomenological description. Citation Mining starts with a group of core papers whose impact is to be examined, retrieves the papers that cite these core papers, and then analyzes the bibliometrics characteristics of the citing papers as well as their linguistic and thematic characteristics. The Science Citation Index is used as the source database for the core of citing papers, since its citation-based structure enables the capability to perform citation studies easily. This paper presents illustrative examples in photovoltaics (applied research) and sandpile dynamics (basic research) to show the types of output products possible. Photoresponsive Bridged Silsesquioxane Nanoparticles with Tunable Morphology for Light-Triggered Plasmid DNA Delivery

Abstract: Bridged silsesquioxane nanocomposites with tunable morphologies incorporating o-nitrophenylene–ammonium bridges are described. The systematic screening of the sol–gel parameters allowed the material to reach the nanoscale with controlled dense and hollow structures of 100–200 nm. The hybrid composition of silsesquioxanes with 50% organic content homogeneously distributed in the nanomaterials endowed them with photoresponsive properties. Light irradiation was performed to reverse the surface charge of nanoparticles from +46 to −39 mV via a photoreaction of the organic fragments within the particles, as confirmed by spectroscopic monitorings. Furthermore, such nanoparticles were applied for the first time for the on-demand delivery of plasmid DNA in HeLa cancer cells via light actuation.

This paper looks into coexistence and sharing between systems as a recently critical issue due to emerging new technologies and spectrum scarcity. At WRC-07, ITU-R allocated 3400-3600 MHz band for the coming fourth generation (4G) or IMT-Advanced on a co-primary basis along with existing Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) systems. Therefore, coexistence and sharing requirements like separation distance and frequency separation coordination must be achieved in terms of both co-channel and adjacent channel frequencies. Co-sited the two base stations antennas and non co-sited coexistence of the twos systems are investigated. The interference analysis models, adjacent channel interference ratio ACIR and spectrum emission mask are applied in the mentioned band to extract the additional isolation needed to protect adjacent channel interference. Also interference to noise ratio as a standard interference criteria is introduced and possible engineering solutions are suggested and explained at last.

Aims: Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) is a costly condition for health-service provision yet variation in the delivery of care between hospitals persists. A composite measure of adherence with evidence-based clinical-process-indicators (CPIs) could better inform hospital performance reporting and clinical outcomes in the management of ACS.

Methods: Data on 7444 ACS patients from 39 Australian hospitals were used to derive a hospital specific composite quality score by calculating mean adherence to 14 evidence-based CPIs. Using the Generalised Estimating Equation to account for clustering of patients within hospitals and the GRACE Risk Score to adjust for differences in presenting risk, we evaluated associations between the hospital specific composite quality score, in-hospital major adverse events, in-hospital mortality and mortality and readmission for ACS at 6 months.

Results: Hospitals had a mean adherence of 68.3% (SD 21.7) with the composite quality score. There was significant variation between hospital adherence tertile 1(79%) and tertile 3 (56%) p<.0001. With risk adjustment there was an association between hospitals with a higher composite quality score and reduced in-hospital adverse events (OR 0.85 CI: 0.71-0.99) and survival at hospital discharge (OR 0.47 95% CI: 0.28-0.77). There was trending improvement in survival at 6 months (OR 0.48 CI: 0.20-1.16) and fewer readmissions to hospital for ACS at 6 months (OR 0.79 CI 0.60-1.05).

Conclusion: The association between the quality composite score and reduced in-hospital events and survival at hospital discharge supports the utility of reporting CPIs in routine hospital performance reporting on the management of ACS.

Minimum spanning trees and planar maximally filtered graphs are generated from correlations between the 300 most-capitalized NYSE stocks&#39; daily returns, computed dynamically over moving windows of sizes between 1 and 12 months, in the period from 2001 to 2003. We study how different economic sectors differently populate the various regions of these graphs. We find that the financial sector is always at the center whereas the periphery is shared among different sectors. Four extremes are observed: stocks well-connected and central; stocks well-connected but at the same time peripheral; stocks poorly-connected but central; stocks poorly-connected and peripheral. Two principal components of centrality measures are individuated. The economic meaning of this hierarchical disposition is discussed.
