This paper describes the funerary barrow No.8 of Besoba, a re-cently excavated Early Iron Age burial located in the middle valley of the Ishim river. According to the size of the mound, this barrow can be regarded as a royal burial of the Northern Saryarka region. The description of the funerary rite as well as the material culture collected, are here provided. Among the most interesting find-ings recovered from the partially destroyed and already plundered burial chamber it must be noticed hundreds of small gold beads, a socketed bullet-shaped arrowhead and some ceramic fragments of a spouted vessel. The funerary inventory and the topographical characteristics of the site allow to date this barrow to the 7th or 6th century BC.
Shulga P. I. On Burials of Corgantas Type Summary This article is devoted to the problem of appearing burials of Corgantas type with animal sculls placed at the heads of the dead in the VIth – IIId centuries B.C. in the Central Kazakhstan, Mountain Altai and Tuva. The author has come to the conclusion that the early burials of Corgantas type in the second half of the VIth – Vth centuries B.C. in Tuva and Altai resulted from infiltration of small groups of population from the “eastern” community (Northern China – Transbaikalia) where such a burial ritual (single burials, stretched position of the dead on the back with the head to the east, animals’ sculls at the head) was formed already in the Bronze Age. They came to Altai through Mongolia. The dead from Corgantas burials seem to have been the descendants of the first immigrants from the east who gradually moved in the western direction
The article discussed materials of 4 settlements of early nomads of the Southern Trans-Urals of the end of VII – Vth centuries B.C., including Ulek-Haza-2, Mailybaj-1, Ulak-6, Laimberdy-5 (Republic of Bashkortostan), as well as materials from the Novokumakskoe II settlement in the Orenburg region of Russia. Based on an analysis of the ceramic complex the author concludes that they belong to the Tasmolinskaya archaeological culture of the Ural-Kazakhstan steppes. The data on the topography and composition of the findings indicate that the published sites are heterogeneous: Ulek-Haza-2 and Mailybaj-1 are permanent settlements, Laimberdy-5 is a shortterm nomadic site, Ulak-6 – metallurgical complex (smelting of iron ore). It is established that the settlements identified in the mountain-steppe zone of the eastern slope of the Southern Urals refer to the Irendyk-Kryktinskiy early nomadic group, which had early Saka roots and existing in the mountain valleys around the end of the IVth century B.C. It is concluded that the settlement monuments of the early nomads, including the ones of the early Saka time in the steppe and mountain-steppe zones of the Southern Trans-Urals should have been fairly widespread, but they never focused research on the latter.
Demidenko S. V. On one of the “Types” of Bronze Cauldrons from Minusinsk Basin Summary This article is about of the four cauldrons found in Minusinsk Basin, which N.L.Chlenova allocated to the «type B» of Tagar bronze cauldrons and dated V - III centuries. BC. However, a detailed study of the morphological and technological characteristics of these specimens showed that they belong to different epochs, so the «type B» of Tagar bronze cauldrons as taxonomic classification unit does not exist. Only cauldron from Izyh mountains can be seen in the context of the development of cauldrons and Saka-Usun time and reflect the direction of tribal contacts Minusinsk basin and Central Asia in the early Iron Age. Other specimens belong to a later period and with Tagar cauldrons do not have anything in common.
Pyslaru I. A phenomenon of the Eurasian steppes from in the early iron age and about cimmeriens in the Karpato-Danube region // Sak culture of Saryarka in the context of the study of ethnic and sociocultural processes of Steppe Eurasia. The collection of scientific articles, dedicated to the memory archaeologist Kemal Akishev. – Алматы: HARC “Begazy-Тasmola”, 2015. – Р. 132-145. In the west and north area of the Black Sea, at the end of the Bronze Age-beginning of the Iron Age, had taken place some important historical changes that marked the start of 1 st millennium B.C. Then, on the ancient history arena, appeared the Cimmerians and Scythians, nomadic peoples. The problem of the Cimmerians presence in the Carpathian-Danubian space was already approached in numerous papers of researchers from different countries, but being far from clarified. Here we will identify some characteristic particulates of the Cimmerian culture which we found in the Carpathian-Danubian area. The “Cimmerian” culture it’s represented by a group of funerary discoveries, collections of harness parts and weapons without a context and a few “deposits”, like the anthropomorphic stone stars. These, mostly, aren’t taken by researchers in considerations when analyzing the Cimmerian problem. The author reached the conclusion that the “dear stones” statuettes mark the territory occupied by the “pre-Scythian”/Cimmerian population. Accepting this idea, the existence of a big “Cimmerian-Scythian” historic-cultural community, we will be able to define a first chronological period linked by the Cimmerians and a second one by Scythians.

Polidovych Iu.B. The wild goat images in Sakyan archaic art Summary The article contains analysis of Caucasian goat images from Central Asian complexes which have age-dates from 7 to early 6 BC. It calls our attention on the whole number of analogies and the general context of the regional animal style. The author comes to the conclusion that the stylistic features of images had the gradual changes and also fixes the chronological order of complexes with Caucasian goat images. The earliest two of them are the barrow 10 from Tamdy (Pamirskaya I) cemetery and the barrow 66 from Uygarak cemetery. The next cultural and chronological horizon Bizhe – Shilikty is almost representative. Its earliest complexes are identified by Bizhe “buried treasure” and the number 55 barrow from South Tagisken cemetery, and the latest have Baygetobe barrow from Shilikty 2 cemetery as their markers. We can synchronize this horizon with Kelermess “cultural horizon” from the western part of Skythian-Sukyan world. And the last horizon is compared with Zhalauly complex and barrow Arzhan 2 from Tuva. Therefore two powerful centers in Semirechie and Tuva had these complexes as their marks, and it probably meant that there was certain cultural burst there.
