Pendidikan adalah  medium terbaik untuk menyebarluaskan konsep pendidikan pembangunan lestari (education for
sustainable development, ESD) kepada masyarakat umum. Sebahagian besar program kesedaran alam sekitar pada
masa kini menyasarkan kesedaran dalam aspek alam sekitar, ekonomi dan sosial ke arah kehidupan yang lebih
lestari. Di Malaysia, misalnya,  Program Sekolah Lestari Anugerah Alam Sekitar (SLAAS) telah diperkenalkan bagi
tujuan tersebut. Justeru, kajian ini bertujuan mengkaji hubungan antara kesedaran ESD ibu bapa/ penjaga di bandar
dan luar bandar dengan anak dan sebaliknya. Sejumlah  243 pelajar dan 243 ibu bapa/ penjaga yang terlibat dengan
Program SLAAS menjadi sumber data primer analisis. Hasil kajian mendapati tingkah laku ESD ibu bapa atau
penjaga di bandar adalah lebih baik berbanding dengan luar bandar. Seterusnya, terdapat hubungan yang signifikan
antara pengetahuan Program SLAAS dan pengetahuan kandungan ESD pelajar dengan pengetahuan ESD ibu bapa /
penjaga. Sebaliknya, pengetahuan amalan ESD, sikap ESD pelajar dan tingkah laku ESD pelajar tidak menunjukkan
hubungan yang signifikan dengan pengetahuan ESD ibu bapa atau penjaga. Dari segi tingkah laku ESD ibu bapa /
penjaga, kajian mendapati wujud hubungan signifikan antara pengetahuan amalan ESD pelajar, sikap ESD pelajar
dan tingkah laku ESD pelajar. Dapatan ini menunjukkann bahawa tidak semua pembolehubah kesedaran ESD
pelajar mempunyai hubungan langsung dengan pengetahuan ESD dan tingkah laku ESD ibu bapa / penjaga.
Implikasinya ialah wujud hubungan antara pengetahuan dan tingkah laku ESD pelajar dengan ibu bapa / penjaga  tetapi tidak sepenuhnya. Justeru,usaha pihak kerajaan bagi meningkatkan pengetahuan ESD dalam kalangan
masyarakat perlulah dilaksanakan secara lebih bersistematik dan berterusan. Namun begitu  harus diakui bahawa  penglibatan pelajar dalam Program SLAAS adalah satu permulaan positif  ke arah menyebarluaskan ESD kepada
ahli keluarga.

Artikel ini bertujuan membincangkan pendekatan pendidikan pembangunan lestari melalui program komuniti Sekolah Karbon Rendah. Komuniti sekolah atau sampel yang terlibat dalam program ini adalah terdiri daripada semua pelajar yang berusia 14 – 16 tahun di salah sebuah sekolah di Selangor, Malaysia. Pelaksanaan program dibahagikan kepada tiga fasa iaitu fasa pertama melibatkan ujian pra dan pemerhatian amalan kelestarian di kawasan sekolah, fasa kedua pelan tindakan dan aktiviti kelestarian rendah karbon dan fasa ketiga meliputi ujian pasca dan pembentukan model sekolah karbon rendah. Penilaian kajian adalah berdasarkan ujian pra dan pasca yang mengukur tahap pengetahuan literasi karbon dan amalan rendah karbon pelajar. Kajian ini bertujuan mengkaji tahap pengetahuan alam sekitar, pengetahuan bahan kitar semula dan amalan penjagaan alam sekitar dalam kalangan murid prasekolah di Miri, Sarawak. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah gabungan iaitu kaedah kuantitatif dan kaedah kualitatif. Data kajian telah diperolehi secara kuantitatif melalui kaedah soal selidik bergambar. Borang soal selidik bergambar ini telah diedarkan kepada 470 responden dalam kalangan murid tadika dan prasekolah di Miri, Sarawak yang dipilih secara rawak mudah. Bagi meneliti tahap pengetahuan alam sekitar, pengetahuan bahan kitar semula dan amalan penjagaan alam sekitar, analisis secara deskriptif telah digunakan. ἀis article aims to develope the Structural Equation Model (SEM) on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) student awareness around Sustainable Schools in Malaysia. ἀe cluster sampling technique was used in selecting the school samples and the respondents were then also selected through simple random sampling among upper second-ary pupils. A questionnaire survey was administered for 447 pupils, to evaluate the aḀer eᴀects of the SLAAS. ἀe results showed that the model has been developed to provide an overview of each construct (knowledge on SLAAS Program, ESD content knowledge, ESD practices knowledge, attitudes of ESD and behavioral constructs of ESD) formed a ᰀt model. ἀe implication of this article showed that SLAAS Program implemented in Malaysia can be an indicator for the achievement of sustainable school.

This study intends to examine student achievement in subject of geography. This studyinvolves variables of attitudes, interest, teacher’s role and parents’ role with student achievement. This is a preliminary study involved only one district in Sabah, Kota Marudu district. Data were collected through a questionnaire which contains 40 items to measure, attitude, interest, teacher’s role and parents’ roles. Meanwhile, final examination results year 2015 used to measure student achievement for geography subject. A total of 257 Form Five students representing six schools that took geography involved in this study were selected through random sampling. Data were analysed using SPSS software by selecting the Pearson correlation analysis. Research finding showed that students’ attitude has a significant relationship with student achievement. Carbon literacy is a key medium to enhance the understanding of an individual's consciousness on reducing carbon emissions in the atmosphere towards addressing the issue of global warming and climate change. This article aims to identify the level of carbon literacy among lower secondary schools students in Malaysia. The study involved 463 Form 2 students from eleven schools in the Federal Territory of Putrajaya. The schools were selected using a systematic sampling and respondents were selected using a simple random sampling. Questionnaire Likert scale of 1 to 5 were used as a research instrument. Carbon literacy variable studies include four variables, namely the carbon footprint knowledge, low carbon attitudes, carbon literate value and low carbon practices. This study aims to analyse the water usage practices difference based on gender among Form Four students in Northern Kinta district, Perak. This study used quantitative (survey) method and involved a sample of 420 students who are selected using a stratified random sampling method from thirteen schools. The data were collected through a questionnaire which focuses on the five aspects of the variables namely knowledge, values, skills, attitudes and practices of sustainable usage of water. Inferential analysis (t-test) is used to answer the objective of the study. The findings of the t-te`st analysis show that there is no significant difference in terms of knowledge, values, skills and practices of sustainable usage of water based on students’ gender. The purpose of this article is to map the curriculum of Bachelor of Education in Geography programme with the Standard Document of Curriculum and Assessment (DSKP) in school. An analysis of  document been implemented to examine the linkages between the geography curriculum at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) towards the geography subject in Standard Curriculum for Secondary School  (KSSM) of form one, two and three. The relationship matrix of paralleled themes was identified with the ATLAS.ti software. The themes examined comprised of physical geography, human geography and geographic skills. The results showed that 14 out of 16 courses of BED Geography were parallel with the Geography DSKP for form 1 to 3. Climate change and global warming are the primary issues often debated when environmental issues are discussed nowadays. Among the efforts made to raise awareness concerning mitigation and adaptation to climate change is climate literacy acquired from the educational medium. Therefore, this article seeks to identify the level of awareness on climate literacy among preservice teachers in Malaysia. This study involved 500 final-year students from nine faculties at Sultan Idris Education University using the stratified sampling method. A questionnaire instrument was used to get feedback, containing four study variables, namely the knowledge, attitudes, skills, and practices of climate change mitigation and adaptation. A study of the water quality of the former tin mining lakes in Ipoh City was carried out to determine the Water Quality Index (WQI) and classification based on the Malaysia National Water Quality Standards, in order to determine its suitability to be developed as a water recreation area. Five former mining lakes were chosen: Gunung Lang, Taman Indah, Kg. Temiang, Lahat and Kg. Engku Husin. The parameters measured were pH, dissolved oxygen, suspended solids, biochemical oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand and ammonical nitrogen (NH3N), while the heavy metals measured were lead (Pb), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn) and arsenic (As). The analytical study shows that four former mining lakes in this research are suitable to be developed for water recreation purposes as they are classified under class II with a WQI greater than 81, which holds a clean status.
