Gestalt therapy is an approach of psychotherapy that emphasizes experience and a focus on the concrete situation as guiding elements for the process. Another aspect of the approach is its proximity to the field of art due to its spontaneous and sensitive character. In this way, the present article proposes to study the relationship between art and Gestalt-therapy, exploring the experience of a Gestalt-therapist who is also close to the field of art. From the study, we were able to observe different ways in which Gestalt-therapy finds proximity to art.

The pandemic has affected people’smental health and university students are considered one of the most vulnerable groups, encouraging the development of psychological interventions that can minimize the suffering and illness of this public. Among the possibilities of intervention, virtual clinical listening groups were created which, during the period of social isolation, had the purpose of opening up a listening space for university students suffering from emotional distress. The focus of the group meetings was how university students were experiencing the pandemic, as well as the consequences of this experience. In this article, we discuss virtual clinical listening groups as a form of psychological intervention in the mental health care of university students during the
COVID-19 pandemic at a university in northeastern Brazil. This is a qualitative study that began with 274 university students and 5 psychologists who facilitated the listening groups. We used as instruments the registration forms, the participation records of the virtual clinical listening groups and the field diaries written by the facilitators after each
meeting. We described in the results the collected data and, from the field diaries, the themes that emerged in the various meetings were listed and analyzed in dialogue with the literature. At the end of the psychological screening process, 117 students participated in the 17 organized groups, with an average of 8 university students per group. Among the main motivations for participating in virtual clinical listening groups, we highlight: the desire to share experiences, a search for control of anxiety, depression and stress, care for mental health, a willingness to promote listening to psychological support for themselves and for others, and self-knowledge. We discuss the nuances in the process of forming the listening groups and the characteristics of the participants, as well as a central element of the group process, which is the establishment of bonds and
mutual help among the participants. Feeling vulnerable and the fear of contamination is an element of suffering and, above all, of stress experienced by university students. The group presented itself as an alternative of mutual care in the pandemic context.

The literature on the influence of phenomenology and existentialism on Gestalt therapy is controversial because its founders did not clarify its philosophical and epistemological foundations. However, we understand that various influences exerted on Perls and his collaborators during the development of the Gestalt therapy led to a phenomenological-existential approach. The possible influences of phenomenology and existentialism on Gestalt therapy are discussed based on literature review focusing on the influence of Gestalt psychology, through Goldstein, Laura Perls, and Goodman, and the approaches to the phenomenological ideas of Brentano, Husserl and Merleau-Ponty. Similarly, with regard to existentialism, we address the combination of Gestalt concepts with the philosophies of Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, Buber, and Sartre. It was concluded that the influence of phenomenology and existentialism on Gestalt therapy resulted in the conception of man as a being-in-the-world and an emphasis ...

The text discusses the making of subjectivity male’s rituals, pointing out the actual difficulties experienced by man, his necessity of differentiation of woman and the fact that, on the contrary of her, he is made negatively, that is, he must not be a baby, a woman and a homosexual. The text stands out that this phenomenon is engendered by the patriarchal system, that defines and controls the social relations of gender since many centuries and, although it has been losing its power, what supports some socially considered feminine capacities, it continues, by the other side, making men confused because of the increasing multiplicity of gender roles, what has characterized, for various social thinkers, as a crisis of male subjectivity. In conclusion, the text denounces the frequent context of violence where men are still made in our days. Key words: rituals; making of male’s subjectivity; violence; gender; crisis.

This work aims, from an experience of Psychological Emergency Attendance Service, to discuss the insertion of clinical psychologists in public policies. As a contribution to the reflections developed here, the text is supported by authors who discuss the clinical psychologist's current role and recognize that the clinical space refers to the contact with the other in its entirety. Furthermore, since the inadequacy of a mere proposition of listening, the text points out the need of this professional to become a partner in the search for alternatives to the demands. It highlights, too, the need for knowledge of public policy, which can serve as a host space to customers' complaints. The text points out, also, the poor training of psychologists in regard to these issues and the privatist model in which operate the clinics-school of psychology in Brazil. The Psychological Emergency Attendance Service arises as a query space for this model and introduces the need to have contact with questions that, until recently, were beyond the psi field.

It was concluded that the influence of phenomenology and existentialism on Gestalt therapy resulted in the conception of man as a being-in-the-world and an emphasis on past experiences.

Abstract: This paper discusses a clinical case of a 40 years old woman, diagnosed as a borderline personality disorder, conforming to CID-10 (2003). The paper proposes, by a concrete clinical experience, to discuss the phenomenological and existential psychopathology. At first, it describes borderline disorder according to existential phenomenology. So, the authors discuss the conceptions about the relation between health and sickness in Gestalt-Therapy and Daseins-analysis, trying to understand the way of 'being-in-the-world' and the constitution of the psychopathological phenomenon in borderline patients from the perspective of the construction of his life story, that is unique. At the end, the authors detach the great challenge of existential-phenom-enological psychotherapist: putting the patient's clinical picture in stand by 'a priori' and considering how she expresses herself and sees the world, giving up the mere disease classification itself.

ABSTRACT New family settings and their subjective implications: assisted reproduction and female monoparental family This article discusses the meaning of motherhood in contemporary history, viewing the emergence of new technologies of assisted reproduction (RA). This text examines the contemporary family, no longer as a unit or as a unique model of structure, and takes into consideration that, nowadays, there are many family arrangements, it is becoming more common to have families composed of single parents. Assisted reproduction is analyzed from the symbolic meanings related to procreation, especially to desire and to the membership, understood under the light of psychoanalysis and in its interfaces with the anthropology, sociology and reproductive medicine. Motherhood is questioned, either as destination, or as women's project. In conclusion, we endorse the importance of unstandardizing and manicheist discussions about the modes of family formation and its implications on individual and collective subjectivities. ABSTRACT This article describes a research about the stigma of violence suffered by women in their relationship with intimate partners. It focalizes the understanding on which determining factors in the aggressive/abusive relation concur in order that women feel so many difficulties to denounce their aggressors. We used the mundane critical phenomenological method and, as an implement, we used audio-record interviews. The results show that these women endure several modalities of violence in the relation with their partners. Feeling psychologically stigmatized, they avoid denouncing because they do not want to be recognized by society as trashed and ill-treated women.

Abstract: This article had as its aim to investigate the ambiguity related to the (in) visibility of female homoparental experiences in the Brazilian scenario, since situations in which prejudice is revealed with cruelty are accompanied by circumstances in which women have overcome discrimination assuming their affective-sexual orientations and their project of being mothers. We interviewed four women who assume themselves as lesbians and have children. Open interviews were used as a tool to collect data. The interview analysis identified that the female homoeroticism lives a paradoxical moment in relation to the human rights of LGBT population: at the same time as the indexes of violence that these subjects have to face significantly increase – revealing the desire to make the family, marital and sexual diversities invisible –, several achievements are met and a fuzzy public debate regarding the different ways of loving and existing is happening.

ABSTRACT This article investigated the everyday lives of four lesbian women and their children. An open interview was used to collect data. The interview analysis identified the following: 1) lesbian mothers tend to develop parenting roles in a cooperative way, however, it was observed that the strategy used by them to form their families and have their children may interfere in how they manage their parenting tasks and 2) the conduct of lesbian mothers that discuss sexual orientation with their children seems to contribute to the reduction of homophobic stigmatization in their lives. We conclude highlighting that social and emotional bonding is the basis of family relationships, showing that parenting goes beyond sexual orientation.

This paper is a critical study about the concept of actualizing tendency of Carl Rogers. This is a key concept for the
Person Centred Approach (PCA) and it refers to the tendency to growth and update, inherent in all living beings. The objective
of this research was to understand how psychotherapists perceive the expression of actualizing tendency in their clinical
practices. Interviews were conducted with ten psychotherapists who worked based in PCA. As data analysis, we used the critical
phenomenological method, based in Merleau-Ponty. The results showed that actualizing tendency is considered a fundamental
concept in the clinical practice of these professionals. Many of them said that actualizing tendency is a concept which
is tied to facilitating conditions. The interviewed psychotherapists also reported that the growth process presents difficulties
which deserve consideration in the relationship between psychotherapy and actualizing tendency. They have corroborated in
part with Rogers’ thought to the extent that some of them pointed out issues which have not been widely discussed by the PCA
creator, such as a moral tone in actualizing tendency concept, as well as difficulties arising from the growth process. We conclude
that these points may be important research themes to be studied as a result of contemporary developments of the Person
Centered Approach.

The paper discusses the history of group psychotherapy, highlighting its transformations until the emergence of the gestaltic groups. The history of group psychotherapy reveals its socio-pedagogical evolution. The first proposals, eminently didactic, exhortative and repressive, were followed by the inclusion of psychoanalysis, allowing the expansion from the focus on the individual to an interpersonal perspective, which had emphasized the group as a "family". The text highlights the advent of the proposals of Moreno, Adler, Burrow, Bierer, Lewin and Rogers, who have created a vast field of action between the humanistic psychotherapies, characterized as “pedagogies of life”, focused on the available resources in groups. It is in this last context that we can include the gestalt therapy, although some limits on their group initiatives, at least in the practice of its founder, Frederick Perls, and some of his followers. Beyond his psychoanalytic training, Perls had incorporated, from his own experience, a number of influences, ranging from expressionist theatre to zen buddhism, character analysis, psychodrama, until phenomenology and existentialism. Perls, who considered himself a mediocre psychoanalyst, have created a living approach, which integrates the list of the more recognized psychological references, particularly with regard to group practices.

This research has, as main objective, to understand the experience of suicide from a humanistic-phenomenological reference that proposes a conceptual review of Carl Rogers’ humanistic psychology since Maurice Merleau-Ponty’s phenomenology of ambiguity. Based on the understanding that lived experience can only be properly understood in mutual constitution with the world, such phenomenological perspective overcomes the dichotomy internal versus external, so present in studies on subjectivity. Thus, suicide experience may be recognized as a mundane experience, since it is not possible to understand it without its imbrication with the world. The research cooperators were male psychiatric patients who were able to describe their suicide attempts through semi-structured interviews. Identifying how each cooperator understands his suicidal experience, it was possible to describe them without the theoretical moorings of the studies on such theme. It is possible to perceive that suicidal experience is characterized as an experience of existential annihilation, and to recognize that cultural and socio-economic conditions around suicide must be systematically considered and deepened for that human phenomenon can be better understood as a mundane phenomenon.
