The concept of Supply Chain management is believed to be introduced in the early 1980s (Harland, 1996). The Supply Chain Management is the practice of harmonizing all management and operational activities to positively meet the expectations of customers. According to (Cravens et al., 1996), business establishments are able to act and or function properly to the forces of the external environment through the application of Supply Chain Management. In today’s business environment there are high demands for advanced and convenient products by consumers with realistic price. Consumers have become powerful and price sensitive to the extent that it is becoming very challenging for managers to develop a customizable solution with cost effective supply chain scheme.

All things undergo change. Change is inevitable. Change is highly influenced by both internal and external factors. The environment at this present time is changing with enormous uncertainties as a result of the constant advancement in technology, globalization and the high level of competition in the world of business. This has really contributed to the necessity for organizations to strategically adopt and apply some change irrespective of their size (Lawler & Worley, 2006; Armenakis & Harris, 2009).
The survival of any organization is highly dependents on the application of change.
As proposed by Kotter, every organization requires at least seventy-five percent (75%) of its management and staffs to accept the idea of change and the willingness to assist in its implementation before change can be successfully applied to reflect in the development of an organization.

In Ghana and the world at large, the structure and anatomy of top management team is very critical in the decision making process and management of an organization. For instance, in all the industries in Ghana, especially for banking, agriculture, manufacturing, commerce, construction, energy, computer and the education industry among other industries have to present the anatomy or structures of the organization’s top management team to the Ghana Registrar General Department as part of its process of granting renewable permit for any organization to secure a certificate of incorporation and to commerce business operations. This shows how important the composition of top management team is to an organization.
