Science is identical to the implementation of scientific discovery-based learning (practicum), and it is used as one of the basic implementation of the 2013 curriculum (K13). The process of learning science with K13 can use medicinal plants lab scenarios (TOGA) as a source of learning and learning objects. Start of plant taxonomy, habitat, cultivation process, retrieval and use of the composition of bioactive compounds, can be studied according to its level students. Students can experience the learning process with the object that is easily recognized by them, draw conclusions and communicate with friends and teachers. While teachers can implement the new curriculum and assessment in accordance corresponding series of scenarios that have been made to run by students.

The aimed of this reseach is to advance creativity university student to create innovative science visual-aids for elementary school learning by using used goods through project based learning. The object of this research is sixth semester university students Teaching Elementary Education Study Program Faculty of Teaching and Science Education University of Trunojoyo Madura  even semester academic year 2013/2014 consist of class A and B each class insist of 45 students. The result of reseach show that product of science visual-aids was made many kinds and innovative, although was made by used goods. From  all report get over 80 for the  and for product of of science visual-aids 63,6% get score over 80; 27,3% get score 80 and 9,1 % get score under 80. This case mean problem based learning able to advance student’s creativity and team work to produce science visual-aids with self idea or modified.

Research development of  biology teaching materials cooperative model with scientific approach has been done use 4-D model and which aims to facility critical thinking of student in senior high school to improve the learning outcomes of students. The research subject of teaching materials which tested on 35 student of senior high school with one-group pretest- posttest  design,  and  analyzed  using descriptive  qualitative. The results are validation  of teaching materials is valid, learning performance is good. Tests of student learning outcomes were analyzed with N-Gain  increased highly and affective abilities of students has increased highly in every indicator. Critical thinking skills of students were analyzed with N-Gain increased  highly,  as  well  as  learning  activity  of  students  has  increased  highly.  The conclusions of this research, that the biology teaching materials of cooperative with scientific approach is feasible and can facility critical thinking skills to improve the learning outcomes of students.

The study of biology through instructional media and the Direct Instruction Model has been implemented and tested on 30 students of class XI of SMAN 18 Surabaya using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The purpose of this study is to improve student learning outcomes. Data were analyzed by descriptive qualitative, the results as follows: very well performed learning; activities of students is too good; increasing the students’ learning outcomes and all students give good responses to the instructional media and application. The conclusions of this study is that the application of instructional media using Direct Instruction models can improve student learning outcomes.

Kenaf plants generally do not result in productive branches and only produce primodial branches (branches will not grow into branches) only. Branching on Kenaf spurred by the presence of synergism between the auxin-cytokinin hormone levels. The ratio of certain levels of the hormone auxin-cytokinin in plants for the establishment of branches in plants. Based on morphological observations kenaf plant branched and unbranched appears that there are differences in morphological characters in terms of height, number of branches, branch length and the number of nodes in the kenaf plant strains branched, unbranched KR11 control and branching control SM004. Control unbranched KR11 has the highest high and the number of branches at least compared to the other. Control branched SM004 has the lowest height and number of branches compared to most others. Average plant height was highest unbranched control KR11 is 230.6 ± 36.7 cm and the lowest is branching control SM004 is 116.3 ± 64.4 cm. While the number of branches at most that control branching SM004 reached 5.6 ± 2.7 branches per plants and at least is KR11 which had an average of 0.8 ± 0.8 branches per branch plants. Based on the research it appears that the higher the number of plants produced fewer and fewer branches and conversely the lower the plant height, the number of branches produced more and more. The highest levels of cytokines produced at each plant is at the end of the root is the lowest level at the end of the rod.

The study of the Biology through learning devices oriented to Think-Talk-Write strategy (TTW) has been implemented and tested on 32 students of XI Science-3 SMAN 1 Pakusari using one-group pretest-posttest design. The purpose of this study is developing the Biology learning devices to increase learning outcomes and to teach the student’s communication skill. The excess of Think-Talk-Write strategy is give same oppotunity for all students to express their ideas. Data were analyzed by descriptive and qualitative, the results are as follows: developed learning devices are good, well performed learning, the student’s learning outcome is increase, good oral communication skills and student’s persistence showed progress, and most students give good response to Think-Talk-Write strategy. The conclusions of this study is that the developed learning devices can increase learning outcome and can teach student’s communication skills.

Jailolo is one of the production centers to the achievement of the durian production of 34-877 per tonne each year and also has a biodiversity of fruits and vegetables are high enough .Diversity durian is a potential that can be favored.A large diversity of durian can be analyzed by morphological and manes  differences in the varieties.The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity of varieties of durian contained in Jailolo based on morphological characteristic .This is a descriptive study that describes the variable conditions .This research was conducted at 4 points in the two districts, Sahu West and Sahu East.The data collected is then calculated using the formula similarity coefficient STO partner associations (Operational Taxonomic Units). The results of this study indicate that the diversity of the local durian Jailolo there are 7 local varieties contained in such Jailolo durian pineapple, banana durian, durian tabesang , tete durian , durian Malal, durian nikhodimus and durian boga.The highest similarity index values 82.69 and 38.89 and the lowest similarity average value of the index 54.97. The differences are influenced by environmental factors that lead to morphological changes

Learning Tools is a set of curriculum documents developed in the framework of the technical implementation in the field. Learning tools in higher education consists of Syllabus and SAP (Syllaby and Lesson plan) with all document attachments of teaching materials and instruments of assessment. This research is a development that aims to produce an output device design KKNI based learning in higher education, especially in the department of Biology Education FKIP Khairun University. The design is developed learning tools KPT based KKNI. Through this study is expected to: 1) provide accurate information to the academic community in the department of Biology Education Guidance and Counseling to implement guidelines KPT based KKNI ;2) provide a model of the development of KPT -based learning device Biology Prodi KKNI in Biology Education, 3) The results of this study can be a reference for Khairun University in policy decisions related to improving the quality of academic education through the implementation of  KPT -based KKNI. The results of this study indicate that : 1) Product design learning device KPT based KKNI general biology has been tested in class IA forces in 2013 and validated by category ENOUGH fit for use as a classroom learning tool Bilingual program PGMIPABI/PGMIPAU; 2) learning tools developed products still need to be corrected / revised to refinement results.

Research aim are determine the effect of using constructivism approach using mind mapping and discussions, memory skills, verbal skills, and their interaction on learning achievement. This study is a quasi-experimental, with a factorial 2 x 2 x 2, take two samples of 8th grade class X on the subject of Newton's law of the school year 2011/2012. Based on the results of the study, concluded: 1) constructivism learning through the mind map and discussion methods significantly affect cognitive learning achievement, cognitive learning achievement of mind mapping method is better than the method of discussion, 2) memory capability significantly affect students' learning achievement in the realm cognitive but not significantly affect the achievement of learning in the affective domain, 3) verbal ability significantly influence cognitive and affective learning achievements of students, 4) there was no significant interaction between learning method with memory capabilities of the cognitive and affective learning achievement of students, 5) there was no significant interaction between learning method with verbal ability on cognitive and affective learning achievement of students, 6) there was no significant interaction between verbal memory skills with the ability of the cognitive and affective learning achievement of students, 7) there was no significant interaction between methods of learning, memory, and verbal skills to the cognitive and affective student achievement.

The damage of mangrove forests in the Gulf in Ambon mostly caused by pollution, waste and uncontrolled human activities on land. The amount of sedimentation due to conversion of forest lands in the highlands and high rainfall that caused a lot of erosion exacerbating the pressure on forests in sloping areas, including mangrove forests. Given the complex functions of mangrove forests, the disturbance of the existence of mangrove forests should receive serious attention from various parties. Small changes to the ecosystem will have a great impact on the entire ecosystem. One steps can be taken to address the situation in a positive way is the development of mangrove forest as ecotourism. So the damage does not continue, counseling and dissemination of the importance of mangrove forests to society is to be done, especially at the community/population on the coast, as well as the necessary commitment of all parties, both public, government, industry, researchers and practitioners concerned.

Teaching and learning in school only emphasizes on the aspects of knowing and understanding. An aspect of the analysis, application, synthesis and evaluation is done so rarely teach students in rote learning. This study aims to improve students' critical thinking skills using a problem-solving oriented learning with testing at 31 junior high school students to design one-group pretest-posttest, the development of the Dick and Carey. Data were analyzed with descriptive qualitative, applicability of learning process good (with range 3-4). Tests of student learning outcomes were analyzed with N-Gain increased (0.72). Critical thinking skills of students were analyzed by N-Gain increased (0.81). Conclusion researchers that the problem-solving oriented learning can enhance students' critical thinking skills SMP.

The aim of the research were to know the influence of cooperative learning type STAD and GI viewed from students’ learning activities toward students’ cognitive capability. The research used an experimental method and was conducted at SMPN 2 Kartasura. The population was all students in seventh grade of SMPN 2 Kartasura. The employed sampling technique was cluster random sampling. The sampling consists of 2 classes. Technique of collecting data used questionnaire for students’ learning activities and test for students’ cognitive capability.  Technique of analyzing data used two ways Anova with different cell, followed by Scheffe method. The result of the research showed that: (1) there was an influence between using cooperative learning model type of STAD and GI through the experimental method toward students’ cognitive capability at Motion subject; (2) there was an influence between high and low category of students’ learning activities toward students’ cognitive capability at Motion subject; (3) there was no interaction between the influence of using cooperative learning model and students’ learning activities toward students’ cognitive capability at Motion subject.

This study aims to determine whether the material physics textbook electromagnetic waves with Excel Spreadsheet application to the students' understanding of scientific communication skills class X National High School 3 Surakarta. This research is the development (Research and Development), which includes the step (1) Needs Analysis (2) Initial Product Development and (3) Test and Revision. The analysis includes the analysis of students' needs and curriculum. Early product development includes the development of textbooks and development of assessment tools. Testing and revision include: expert test, field test a small group of students, a limited group, and large group. Data were collected through student worksheet (LKS), assessment sheets textbooks, tests, observations, and interviews. Data from worksheets, assessment sheets textbooks, tests, and analyzed with descriptive observations percentage. The results were analyzed with descriptive qualitative interviews. Data pre-test and post-test were analyzed with the formula Hake (gain normalized) expert test results showed that the initial draft of the proposed instructional materials classified as good for appropriateness of content, language, presentation, and kegrafisan. The average score according to experts on aspects of teaching material contents up to 90% (good), the language of 95% (good), the grain reaches 96% (good), kegrafisan reaches 100% (very good). The development of research has resulted in a model-based physics textbook Excel spreadsheet that have a positive impact on the school. The result of a small group of students produces an average score of 86.25% which is quite good. The result of a small group of students in an average yield of 86.25% which is quite good. The trial results are limited group of experienced development and increase good enough that an average of 67.9% to 88%, then the test in a large group generates an average of 82.3%. Tests showed the ability to communicate scientific results is 38.08% pre-test and post-test 85% so it can produce value gain of 0.75 which means that there is increasing scientific communication skills of students. Through a series of tests and the revisions it can also be produced teaching materials physics-based Excel Spreadsheet positive impact for students in scientific communication skills.

The diversity snacks selection is not matched with the knowledge for traders in order to selling snacks that is safe for buyers, especially for children. It became a separate concern for parents as difficult to monitor snack that are safe for their children.

The main objective of this research is to describe the teaching and learning with guided inquiry, affective and phsychomotor competence which designed to follow the nested pattern. One Group Pretest-Posttest Design was used involving year eleven IPA 5 and IPA 6, instructional implementation was three times. The instruments used in this research consisted of observational sheet to describe the feasibility of the teaching and learning, observational sheet to describe affective, and phsychomotor competence. The results showed that learning experience were consistent with guided inquiry syntax was well categorized. Phsychomotor competence students was well. The most dominant is the cooperated and skills in measured the temperature to use thermometer. Affective competence students was well, consisted of  argue, honesty, and cooperated.

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of teachers' knowledge of inquiry in science learning, and to increase knowledge of science concepts through modeling. The model was the instructor, and the teachers as students. The sampling technique used in this study was quota sampling technique, where the researcher took the sample randomly to meet the expected number of the sample. The study was conducted to the forty elementary school teachers in Bandar Lampung from July through August 2014. Teachers who were involved came from elementary schools located in the centre of town, suburb, and remote area. Parameters observed were their prior knowledge of natural science concepts, their achievement, and their science skill process. The quantitative data was obtained through test, and the qualitative data was obtained through questionnaires, and analyzed with statistic.  The result shows that there is significant difference between the achievements of the teachers taught through inquiry learning and teachers taught through a conventional learning.
