The article deals with the informativeness of the media text in relation to the representation of language dynamic chronological processes. A “dictionary” approach is applied, which is based on the comparison of the language material of modern media with the representation of outdated and neological vocabulary and phraseology in modern Russian language dictionaries of different types. The article describes the functions of outdated vocabulary (traditionally distinguished historicisms and archaisms) and neologisms in the language of modern media, as well as the redistribution of vocabulary between active and passive language stock reflected in the media text. Promptly reacting to all extralinguistic changes, the media text is a source of neologisms in the language, a polygon for using the vocabulary of different epochs in actual meanings and with modern connotations, also it sensitively responds to the process of updating outdated vocabulary in the modern language and demonstrates th...

The aim of the article is to review the ways of dictionary presentation of stable prepositional combinations and the factors essential for their lexical-grammatical status and the type of optimal lexicographic description. The object of the study is twocomponent prepositional combinations with stable meanings and the “preposition+noun” structure. The material of the article is data of different dictionaries of Russian presenting stable prepositional combinations. In the course of the study, the following questions were answered: why the definition and interpretation of the lexical-grammatical nature of stable prepositional combinations are so difficult and ambiguous; what lexicographic interpretation these units have in dictionaries of different types; what the advantages and disadvantages of different ways of dictionary interpretation of such language material are. The following methods were used: introspective (observation, generalization, classification), systematic lexicographic...

The paper deals with the question of the ambiguity of adjectives’ division for lexico-grammatical groups and the mobility of borders between groups of adjectives in the history of Russian (at the material of "The dictionary of everyday Russian of the Moscow Russia of the 16-17th centuries" and its card file). In the history of language the groups corresponding to traditional categories of adjectives are allocated. In their functioning a number of features is observed: wide word-formation variability and in some cases semantic identity, abundance of relative adjectives, small number of adjectives of the quality standard compensated by their rate and polysemy up to the development of syncretic meaning. Transition of adjectives from the category into the category is the diachronic phenomenon. At synchronous level development of an unusual categorial semantics by an adjective is fixed, and the number of such contexts in language of the end of the XV-XVII centuries is much less in comparison with modern material. As the analysis shows, borders between lexico-grammatical categories were steadier than in modern Russian, It is possible to assume dependence of development of new categorial semantics of a certain theme group of an adjective, adjective word-formation, semantic structure and rate, and also type of the text.

The authore present an overview of the results of the practical lexicographical work on compiling a glossary of historical literary monuments in the "Dictionary of Everyday Russian Language of Moscow Rus' in the 16-17th centuries" (4 issues have been published). The paper elaborates on priciples underlyoing the cemantic description of the vocabulary and phraseology of everyday language in the 16-17th centuries, and highlights the parameters of semantic sescription of language material as well as techniques how to define semantic space of linguistic units. It gives a detailed description of semantic derication, systematisation and phraseological coherence, which are significant for historical dictionaries.

The article deals with the linguistic expression of ethnostereotypes and presents the development of the qualification semantics of adjectives and adverbs - derivations from toponyms and ethnonyms - as one of the means such expression. Actual tendencies in derivation and using of such adjectives and adverbs in modern Russian language showing the development of the qualification semantics (such as using of such adjectives in comparative and superlative degrees, like "the most English face", with the quantory adverbs like "very Russsian" and others) are described in the article.

The article describes semantic features of the Russian language of 16-17th centuries based on the rich material of the Card index system of the “Dictionary of the Quotidian Russian Language of Muscovite Russia of 16-17th centuries”. The linguistic analyses shows that the semantic space of quotidian Russian language of 16-17th centuries appears to be a developed complicated semantic system in which the metonymic transfers of meaning, including situational metonymy, and concrete meanings prevail; synonymic relations are complicated by a very strong variability due, first of all, to derivation reasons. In the usage of the words with developed semantic structure and abstract meaning semantic syncretism is found. This system can be described as an unstable chaotic unity at the peak of its extensive development, anticipating a qualitative leap in the 18th century.

The article shows the place of enantiosemy as a special kind of antonymy in the semantic system of Russian of 16-17th centuries and the significance of this phenomenon as the source of enantiosemy and homonymy in the modern Russian language. Dominant in the language of the 16th and 17th centuries was morphologically determined enantiosemy, due to morphological processes and wide derivation variability. The intra-root enantiosemy appears to be not just historically folding type but also a very conservative phenomenon, and in the modern Russian language enantiosemy is actually found in the same roots.
