ABSTRACT In order to recover energy and recycle waste materials, an experimental study was performed on utilization of waste materials in catalytic steam gasification system. In current research, an alternative method of hydrogen production is achieved by blending of palm kernel shell (PKS) with waste tyre as a promising energy resource. Experiments were carried out at 600-800ºC with steam/feedstock ratio (S/F) of 2-4 (kg/kg) and waste tyre/PKS ratio of 0-0.3 (kg/kg). This paper reports the results obtained from series of experiments that have been performed, on a pilot plant to improve hydrogen production efficiency. The highest H2 and total syngas content of 66.15 vol% and 83.8 vol% was achieved respectively under condition of 800ºC and 30 wt% of waste tyre blended with PKS and S/F ratio of 4 (kg/kg). The results obtained confirmed that mixtures of PKS and waste tyre in catalytic steam fluidized bed system produced a fuel gas with a calorific value of 14.76 MJ/Nm3 which has the potential to be utilized in engines.

In this paper a method related to extracting white blood cells (WBCs) from blood microscopic images and recognizing them and counting each kind of WBCs is presented. In medical science diagnosis by check the number of WBCs and compared with normal number of them is a new challenge and in this context has been discussed it. After reviewing the methods of extracting WBCs from hematology images, because of high applicability of artificial neural networks (ANNs) in classification we decided to use this effective method to classify WBCs, and because of high speed and stable convergence of complex-valued neural networks (CVNNs) compare to the real one, we used them to classification purpose. In the method that will be introduced, first the white blood cells are extracted by RGB color system's help. In continuance, by using the features of each kind of globules and their color scheme, a normalized feature vector is extracted, and for classifying, it is sent to a complex-valued back-propagation neural network. And at last, the results are sent to the output in the shape of the quantity of each of white blood cells. Despite the low quality of the used images, our method has high accuracy in extracting and recognizing WBCs by CVNNs, and because of this, certainly its result on high quality images will be acceptable. Learning time of complex-valued neural networks, that are used here, was significantly less than real-valued neural networks.

Today, IT governance is common because the managers of organizations adopt structures and IT governance frameworks such as COBIT to guide and maintain their organizations business goals. Nevertheless, adopting a governance structure does not mean that the organization has effectively implemented a governance structure aligned with IT, keeping and improving the business. This article, deals with the effect and relation

We develop a multi-objective model for the time-cost trade-off problem in a dynamic PERT network using an interac- tive approach. The activity durations are exponentially distributed random variables and the new projects are generated according to a renewal process and share the same facilities. Thus, these projects cannot be analyzed independently. This dynamic PERT network is represented as a network

ABSTRACT A simple and efficient method based on hollow fiber protected headspace liquid-phase in conjunction with high performance liquid chromatography has been introduced for extraction and determination of three residual monomers (2-ethylhexyl acrylate (EHA), vinyl acetate (VA), glycidyl methacrylate (GM)) in polymer latex. Using this methodology, the analytes of interest extracted from a sample are led into organic solvent located inside the porous hollow fiber membrane. Initially, several experimental parameters were controlled and optimized and the optimum conditions were reached with 8 cm neatly cut hollow fibers containing heptanol, which were exposed to the headspace of a 12 mL sample solution containing 20% (w/v) NaCl thermostated at 110 °C and stirred at 800 rpm for 20 min. Finally, 20 μL of the extraction solution was withdrawn into a syringe and injected into HPLC for analysis. The calibration curves were linear (r2 ≥ 0.994) over the concentration range of 0.05–10 mg L−1 for VA and 0.02–10 mg L−1 for other analytes. The relative standard deviation (RSD%) for three-replicate extractions and measurements was below 8.6%. The limits of detection of this method for quantitative determination of the analytes were found within the range of 0.005 to 0.011 mg kg−1 with the enrichment factors within the 5–164 range. The method was successfully applied for determination of residual monomers in polymer latex.

In this paper, we propose an exact method for solving a special integer program associated with the classical capacitated arc routing problems (CARPs) called split demand arc routing problems (SDARP). This method is developed in the context of monotropic programming theory and bases a promising foundation for developing specialized algorithms in order to solve general integer programming problems. In particular,
