- the subsequent frame exchange sequence is substantially the same as the sequence shown in FIG.
- the master station determines transmission power for multiplex communication in a wireless LAN (Local Area Network) based on information obtained by reception from the slave station. . Then, the master station generates a frame including transmission power information indicating the determined transmission power, and transmits the generated frame to the slave station. Also, the slave station sets its own transmission power to the transmission power for multiplex communication in the wireless LAN determined based on information obtained by reception from the slave station. Further, the slave station receives a frame including transmission power information indicating transmission power for the multiplex communication, and transmits the frame with transmission power set based on the transmission power information.
- a wireless LAN Local Area Network
- the transmission power of the multiplexed frame received from the slave station is controlled by the master station, so that the reception power of the frame is adjusted so that the frame is normally received, and multiplexing in the wireless LAN is performed. It is possible to suppress degradation of the reception characteristics of the frame.
- the information obtained by the above reception includes information that changes according to the propagation path. Therefore, by controlling the transmission power of the slave station according to the state or mode of the propagation path that changes the propagation attenuation, the received power of the received frame can be brought close to the target received power, and the reception of the frame It becomes possible to suppress deterioration of characteristics more effectively.
- the information that changes according to the propagation path includes information indicating the propagation attenuation amount. For this reason, it is possible to improve the accuracy and accuracy of the determined transmission power by determining the transmission power for uplink multiplexing based on the propagation attenuation amount.
- the information that changes in accordance with the propagation path may be the communication distance in communication between the master station and the slave station or the presence or absence of an obstacle on the propagation path, that is, an object that causes propagation attenuation.
- the master station performs the above-described operation based on the power related to the communication of the first frame or the second frame in the communication of the first frame and the second frame received as a response to the first frame. Estimate the propagation attenuation. For this reason, it is possible to improve the accuracy of the determined transmission power by using the propagation attenuation amount obtained from the actual frame transmission / reception to determine the transmission power for uplink multiplexing.
- the first frame includes second power information indicating the transmission power of the second frame. Then, the master station receives the second frame transmitted with the transmission power indicated by the second power information included in the first frame, and receives the transmission power indicated by the second power information and the second frame.
- the propagation attenuation amount is estimated based on the power. For this reason, since the function other than the TPC is not required on the slave station side, the configuration of the slave station can be simplified.
- the first frame includes a frame indicating a request for a reference signal
- the second frame received as a response to the first frame includes a frame including a reference signal.
- the master station receives a frame including transmission power range information indicating a range of transmission power that can be set in the slave station from the slave station, and within the range indicated by the transmission power range information as transmission power for multiplex communication. Determine the transmission power that can be accommodated. For this reason, when transmission of a slave station whose transmission power that is difficult to set is suppressed due to difficulty in selecting transmission power that is difficult to set in the slave station, communication due to a decrease in transmission opportunity of the slave station It is possible to suppress a decrease in efficiency. In addition, when transmission is performed at the upper limit or lower limit of transmission power that can be set in a slave station where it is difficult to set the notified transmission power, it is possible to suppress variations in received power density.
- the multiplex communication multiplex method includes a space division multiplex method. For this reason, it is possible to improve the frequency utilization efficiency in the multiplex communication between the master station and the slave station.
- the frame including the transmission power information includes information indicating a permitted transmission period during which transmission of a frame as a response to the frame including the transmission power information is permitted. For this reason, the permitted transmission period suitable for the situation of the slave station is determined, and the transmission period of the frame to be transmitted is aligned with the permitted transmission period, thereby efficiently using communication resources and stabilizing the reception performance. It is possible to achieve both. In addition, by allowing the master station to determine the permitted transmission period and notifying the slave station, it is not necessary for the slave station to perform the process of determining the transmission period, thereby realizing simplification of processing and power saving in the slave station. It becomes possible.
- the master station may determine transmission power for uplink multiplex communication for each frequency. Specifically, the control unit 17 estimates a propagation attenuation amount for each frequency, and determines transmission power for uplink multiplex communication using the propagation attenuation amount. Then, the control unit 17 notifies the slave station of transmission power for uplink multiplex communication for each frequency via the communication unit 12.
- control unit 17 first estimates the propagation attenuation amount for each frequency using the TFB transmission power and the TFB reception power. More specifically, the control unit 17 converts the TFB transmission power into a value D TX_TFB indicated by the power spectral density. Then, the control unit 17 calculates the propagation attenuation amount PathLoss for each frequency component using the following equation.
- PathLoss (n, f) is the nth slave station and indicates the propagation attenuation amount at the frequency component f.
- D TX_TFB (n) indicates the power spectrum density of the TFB transmission power of the n th slave station
- D RX_TFB (n, f) is the power spectrum of the TFB received power at the n th slave station and the frequency component f. Indicates density.
- Formula 3 is a calculation formula for logarithmic (dB) values.
- control unit 17 determines transmission power for uplink multiplex communication for each frequency using the propagation attenuation amount determined for each frequency. More specifically, the control unit 17 determines the target received power D RX_TARGET indicated by the power spectral density. And the control part 17 determines DTX_MUX by which the transmission power for the uplink multiplex communication for every frequency component was shown with the power spectrum density using the following Formula.
- Equation 4 D TX_MUX (n, f) the n-th child station, and shows the power spectral density of the uplink multiplex communication transmission power in the frequency component f, D RX_TARGET (n) is n th child The power spectral density of the target received power of the station is shown.
- Formula 4 is a calculation formula for logarithmic (dB) values.
- Whether the determined transmission power DTX_MUX is within the transmission power setting range is also determined using the transmission power setting range indicated by the power spectral density.
- the control unit 17 causes the data processing unit 11 to generate a frame including UTP information indicating transmission power for uplink multiplex communication determined for each frequency, and causes the communication unit 12 to transmit the generated frame. . More specifically, the control unit 17 groups frequency components with a predetermined granularity, and integrates D TX_MUX (n, f) within a band related to the group for each group. Then, the control unit 17 sets, as UTP information, a set of information obtained by integration and information for specifying a group corresponding to the value obtained by the integration, for example, information indicating the frequency and the bandwidth of the group. The data processing unit 11 is provided.
- the data processing unit 11 generates a trigger frame including the UTP information and RDG information, and provides the generated trigger frame to the communication unit 12.
- the communication unit 12 transmits the trigger frame provided from the data processing unit 11 to the child station.
- the slave station that has received the trigger frame sets its own transmission power based on the UTP information included in the trigger frame. More specifically, the control unit 17 specifies a group of frequency components from the frequency indicated by the UTP information and the bandwidth of the group, and specifies transmission power for each frequency component based on the integrated value of D TX_MUX corresponding to the group. To do. And the control part 17 makes the communication part 12, ie, the amplification part 16, set transmission power so that it may become transmission power for every specified frequency component.
- the master station determines transmission power for uplink multiplex communication for each frequency. For this reason, it is possible to improve the reception characteristics of the multiplexed frame transmitted from the slave station by optimizing the transmission power.

- the control unit 17 acquires MCS information used in uplink multiplex communication, and target reception such that reception characteristics such as an SN ratio of a frame transmitted based on the acquired MCS information fall within a preferable range. Determine the power. Next, the control unit 17 determines the transmission power P TX_MUX using the determined target received power. Moreover, the control part 17 determines RDG information based on the MCS information used for determination of transmission power PTX_MUX . Next, the control unit 17 causes the data processing unit 11 to generate a trigger frame including UTP information, RDG information, and MCS information indicating transmission power P TX_MUX determined. Then, the communication unit 12 transmits the generated trigger frame to the slave station. Note that the storage position of the MCS information in the trigger frame is also arbitrary as in the case of UTP information and RDG information.
- the transmission power PTX_MUX may be a different value for each slave station. This is because when the bandwidth used in uplink transmission is different for each slave station, the power level for each band is different even if the total transmission power is the same.
- the master station determines the transmission power for the multiplex communication based on the information indicating the modulation method and the coding method used in the multiplex communication.
- the communication quality generally changes not only according to the reception characteristics such as the S / N ratio but also depending on the MCS, that is, the modulation scheme and the coding scheme. Therefore, as in this modification, the transmission power of the slave station is determined so as to have a reception characteristic such as an S / N ratio such that a frame transmitted by MCS used for multiplex communication is normally received, It is possible to more effectively suppress the deterioration of the reception characteristics of the multiplexed frame transmitted from the slave station.

- the master station determines RDG 0 information corresponding to the ACK transmission period (step S705). Specifically, the control unit 17 determines RDG 0 information indicating the transmission period of the ACK frame to be transmitted from the slave station as a response to the trigger frame.
- the master station determines RDG 1 information based on the maximum value of RDR information and the ACK transmission period (step S706). Specifically, the control unit 17 determines the sum of the maximum value of RDR information, the ACK transmission period, and the waiting time from the transmission of the ACK frame to the transmission of the UL frame as the RDG 1 information.
- the master station determines RDG information based on the maximum value of RDR information and the ACK transmission period (step S708). Specifically, the control unit 17 determines the sum of the maximum value of RDR information and the ACK transmission period as RDG information.
- FIG. 25 is a flowchart conceptually showing a process of a master station in the uplink multiplex communication process according to this embodiment.
- the master station transmits a trigger frame using MU-MIMO (step S535), and waits until a UL frame multiplexed by MU-MIMO is received from the slave station (step S536).
- the master station transmits an ACK for the UL frame using the MU-MIMO (step S537).
- FIG. 26 is a flowchart conceptually showing a process of a child station in the uplink multiplex communication process according to this embodiment.
- the slave station waits until a trigger frame addressed to itself is received using MU-MIMO (step S631).
- UTP information, RDG is received from the trigger frame.
- Information and flag information are acquired (step S632).
- the data processing unit 11 acquires UTP information, RDG 0 information, RDG 1 information or RDG information, and flag information from the received trigger frame.
- the slave station transmits ACK based on the RDG 0 information (step S635).
- the control unit 17 causes the data processing unit 11 to generate an ACK frame, and causes the communication unit 12 to transmit the ACK frame toward the master station within the transmission period indicated by the RDG 0 information.
- the slave station determines the presence or absence of a data frame (step S636). Specifically, the control unit 17 determines whether there is a data frame to be transmitted with reference to the data buffer.
- the slave station If it is determined that a data frame exists, the slave station generates a UL frame based on the data frame (step S637). Specifically, when it is determined that there is a data frame to be transmitted, the control unit 17 causes the data processing unit 11 to generate the data frame as a UL frame. If it is determined in step S636 that there is no data frame, the slave station ends this process. In this case, no data frame is transmitted.

- each of the slave stations 10-6 # 1 to 10-6 # 4 first transmits an ACK frame to the master station. Then, only the slave stations 10-6 # 1 and 10-6 # 2 having the data frame transmit the data frame to the master station 10-6 # 0 after a predetermined time has elapsed since the transmission of the ACK frame.
- the slave stations 10-6 # 3 and 10-6 # 4 do not transmit subsequent UL frames. This is because the slave stations 10-6 # 3 and 10-6 # 4 do not have data to be transmitted.
- the master station when receiving the UL frame, transmits an ACK frame to the transmission source of the UL frame.
- the master station 10-6 # 0 transmits an ACK frame for the received UL frame to the slave stations 10-6 # 1 and 10-6 # 2.

を示す情報(以下、RDR(Reverse Direction Request)情報とも称する。)
