Abstract

　本発明のバックライト（照明装置）（２）は、複数の光源（５）と、光源（５）からの光を面発光させる複数の導光体（７，１７，…）とを備えている。各導光体（７，１７，…）は、発光面（７ａ）を有する発光部（７ｂ，１７ｂ，…）と、発光部（７ｂ，１７ｂ，…）へ光源（５）からの光を導く導光部（７ｃ）とを有し、一方の導光体（７）の導光部（７ｃ）に、該一方の導光体（７）に隣り合う他方の導光体（１７）の発光部（１７ｂ）が乗り上げるように配置されている。受光した光の量を減少させる光量調整部（１１）が、一方の導光体（７）の発光部（７ｂ）と他方の導光体（１７）の発光部（１７ｂ）との間に配置されている。これにより、輝度の均一性をより向上させることのできる照明装置を実現できる。
