Abstract

 光増幅時の入力光に対するダイナミックレンジを大きくしても、データが重畳された信号光のレベル低下を確実に検出すること。この課題を解決するために、閾値比較部(253)は、信号光レベルと所定の閾値とを比較し、比較結果を信号低下通知部(256)へ出力する。差分算出部(254)は、監視光レベルから信号光レベルを減算し、差分Δを算出する。閾値比較部(255)は、監視光と信号光のレベル差ΔPを所定の相対閾値と比較し、比較結果を信号低下通知部(256)へ出力する。信号低下通知部(256)は、閾値比較部(253)の比較結果において信号光レベルが所定の閾値以下であることを示す場合や、閾値比較部(255)の比較結果においてレベル差ΔPが相対閾値以上であることを示す場合に、信号光のみの光強度が低下していることを警告する低下警報を制御部(120)へ出力する。
