Abstract

　液晶のプレチルト角が低く安定した液晶配向膜、この液晶配向膜を得るための液晶配向剤を提供する。 　下記式（１）で表されるＮ－置換ジアミンを含有するジアミン成分とテトラカルボン酸二無水物とを反応させて得られる重合体及びこの重合体をイミド化させた重合体からなる群より選ばれる少なくとも１種類の重合体を含有する溶液であることを特徴とする液晶配向剤及び該液晶配向剤から得られる液晶配向膜。 （式（１）中、Ｒ１は２価の有機基であって、炭素数１～５の２価の直鎖状炭化水素基、この炭化水素基の任意の水素原子がメチル基で置換されている有機基、又は特定構造を有する有機基であり、かつＲ２及びＲ３の少なくとも一方は炭素数が１～４の炭化水素基である。）
