KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:

That I, D. L. GIBBS, of the city and county of Worcester, and Commonwealth of Massachusetts, have invented a new and original Design for Base of MortisingMachines; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof, and in which- Figure 1 represents a perspective view of my new and original design for hase of mortising-machines, und

Figure 2 represents a top or plan View thereof. i

The upper part is made with sides, A, and rounded corners, B, at the bottom of which is the moulding or part, C, while below that is the square part, D; then another moulding or part, E, and then the lower part, F, from which project the peculiar-shaped feet G Gr G G.

My design is quite ornamental, attractive to the eye, and addsy very much to the looks ofthe machine.

What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

The design for the base ofa mortising-machine, as herein described, and shown in the accompanying drawings.
