DESIGN FOR A TEA-STRAiNER.
To all whom it muy fronccrnf:
lle it known that I, JOHN l. EUSTIs, a citizen 0E the lUnited States, residing at Newton, in the county of Middlesex and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and original Design for a Tea-Strainer, of which the following is a specification.
Reference being had to the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a top plan View, and Fig. i. a sectional View en line 2 2 of Fig. l, of a tea-strainer havingadrip-guard and springelip.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature ot' my invention consists in the new, useful, and original shape or configuration of the tea-strainer as a whole, oomprising the strainer proper, tliedrip-gnard, and the spring-clip, A being the drip-guard, ll the strainer, and D the clip. Drip-guard A is concave-convex in cross-sectional contour and is attached at e' to the rear portion of the edge of the strainer, whieh is enpslxaped, the concave surface ofthe drip-guard being opposed to the rear and lower portion b of the strainer, with a space b or settlingschamber between the opposed Walls of the Strainer and drip-guard. Spring-clip D is of wire bent to form the tongue d', extremities d? of which are secured to the rear portion of the brim of the strainer, the side portions (13 of the tongue projecting rearwardly of the strainer over and outwardly beyond the portions d of the clip to form the spoutreeeving space d between the under side of the tongue and the upper side of the portions d4.
\Vhat I claim is- 'lhe design for a strainer for tea, coffee and like pots, substantially as described.
