UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CHARLES A. BENNETT, OF TAUNTON, MASSACHUSETTS, ASSIGNOR. TO REED AND BARTON CORPORATION, OF TAU'NTON, MASSACHUSETTS.
DESIGN FOR A HANDLE FOR SPOONS, FORKS, OR SIMILAR ARTICLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 36,169, dated December 1902- Applioation filed August 18, 1902. Serial No. 120,160- Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES A. BENNETT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Taunton, in the county of Bristol and Commonwealth of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new, original, and ornamental Design for the Handle of a Spoon, Fork, or Similar Article, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a view of the front or obverse side of the handle, showing my design. Fig. 2 is a view of the rear or reverse side of the same.
The bowl of a spoon is shown in solid lines in both figures, and the tined blade of a fork is indicated in broken lines.
The leading or material feature of my design consists in the conventional ornamentation at the top of the handle, said ornamentation extending entirely across both the front and rear sides of the top of the handle. As shown in the drawings, I place the conventional ornamentation at the top of the handle and also at the base of the handle near the bowl or blade.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The ornamental design for the handle of a spoon, fork or similar article, as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification, in the presence of two subscribing witnesses, on this 9th day of August, A. D. 1902.
CHARLES A. BENNETT.
Witnesses:
GEORGE E. CHAMBERS, HERBERT O. WooLLEY.
