GEORGE E. LAIVTON, O'l SIDNEY, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A SALT-CUP.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,795,dated June 2, 1891.
Application filed May 6, 1891. Serial N0.391,8l8. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE E. LAWTON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Sidney, in the county of Delaware and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Salt-Cups, of which the following is a specification.
The invention relates to a new and original design for a bracket salt-cu p.
The object of the present invention is to provide a salt-cup, which will present a neat and attractive appearance.
The essential feature of the invention resides in the particular shape and arrangement of the parts of the cup.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of the cup, showing my new design. Fig. 2 is a side elevation. Fig. 3 is a front elevation.
Referring to the accompanying drawings, 1 designates a bracket salt-cup comprising a back 2, sides 3, and a bottom 4. The back is provided at its top with a semicircular extension 5 and at its sides with segmental extensions 6, having perforations. The sides 3 are curved, and the bottom 4 is semicircular and is arranged at a slight inclination and extends upward from the lower edge of the back 2,
and the sides 3 are slightly outwardly and upwardly inclined from the bottom 4. The semicircular extension 5 is arranged above the sides of the cup, and the segmental extensions project beyond the sides 3, and the back of the cup is curved or scalloped from the bottom 4, and the cup, when viewed from the front, presents an ornamental and attractive appearance.
What I claim is- The design for a bracket salt-cup herein shown and described, the same consisting, essentially, of the back 2, having the semicircular extension 5 at its top and the segmental extensions 6 at its sides, which extensions form a curved or scalloped edge, the bottom 4, arranged at a slight inclination and extending upward from the lower edge of the back and being semicircular, and the curved sides 3, inclining outwardly from the bottom, as set forth.
In testimony that I claim thetoregoing as my own I have hereto affixed my signaturein presence of two witnesses.
GEORGE E. LAWTON.
