DESIGN FOR A PATTERN FOR CLOTH.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,029, dated May 4, 1897.
Application filed March 5, 1897. Serial No. 626,139- Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it nu/y concern.-
Ue it known that I, liMIL S'toilX, a citizen of the United States, residing at Jersey City, in the countyof Hudson and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Cloth-Patterns, of which the following is a specification The design consists of a clotlrpattern composed of ornamental radiating or divergent portions variously shaped and having foliate or leaf-shaped ornmnentations.
The design is illustrated in the annexed drawing, illustrating a plan view of the pattern on a piece of cloth.
One set of ornanicniations comprises radiatingordivergentarms 1 '2 and 1 3. Thearm or branch 1 .3 is curved and provided with leaf-shaped or pointed ornamentations 4. The arm or branch 1 3 has similar ornamentations 5. The arm or branch 6 7 has the pointed ornamentations 8, and the arm or branch 9 10 has the pointed ornamentations 11, as also a supplemental branch 12, provided with a foliatc or leaf-shaped ornamentation 13 14.
The other set of ornamentations comprises radiating or divergent arms or branches, one of which is shown at 15 1G 17, having an angle shape, while another branch 15 18 has pointed ornamentation 19, another branch 15 20 having pointed ornamentations 21, and branches 15 are forked or shown with divergent pointed end portions.
The next succeeding set or row of ornamentations may be considered as the reverse of theornamentations tirstdcscribcd, the en rved branch '22 23, with foliations 3-1, corresponding to reversed branch 1 2 of said ti rst-named ornamentation. Branch 2*] 35, with l'oliations 26, similarly corresponds to branch 1 I3, while branch 27 '28, with foliations .l, similarly corresponds to branch [3 7, and branch Sit] tikwith foliations I32, and supplemental branch 33 with foliation 2H, corresponds to branch El 10.
The next succeeding set of ornamcntations may be considered as the reverse of the second-named sctof ornamcntations i5 17 18 135, while the next succeeding set of ornamcnta tions are reproductions of the first-named ornamentations. The background or body of the cloth is faced or provided with longitudinal parallel lines 30.
The design gives a striking and charm-teristic appearance.

The design for a cloth-pattern as herein shown and described.
