Be it known that I, WILLIAM F. BROWN, a.
.nbject of the Queen of Great Britain, and e resident of Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and original Design for e Carpet and Border, of which the following is a specification.
The invention comprises two parts-name ly, the design A for a carpet and the design B for a border; and I do hereby declare that the d rewing accompanying this speeiicetion eonveys to any one e clear understanding of the seme, and is sneient to enable such person to use my invention.
The design A is characterized by floral clusters having large curving stemwork of leaf and iioral forms constituting the leading feature thereoand the design B is characterized by floral clusters connected by festoons of leaf and oral `forms, constituting the leading feazo ture thereof.
What I claim, and desire to secure by Lettel-s Patent, is
1. In s design for a carpet, the body A sub stantlally as shown.
Y 2. In e. design for a carpe, the border B substantially as shown.
3. The design for 'a carpet, comprising the bodyA and the border B substantially as shown.
