DESIGN FOR A CHAIR.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 23,065, dated February 13, 1894. Application tiled December 7, 1893. Serial No. 493.048- T rm of patent 7 years To a whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, AUGUST Tnoxar, a subject of the Emperor of Austria-Hungary, residing at Vienna, Austria-Hungary, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Chairs, of which the following is a specification.
In the accompanying drawing, a perspective view of a chair showing my new design is given.
The leading feature of my design consists of a chair having a rectangular seat, frontlegs and rear-legs united by X-shaped crossbars, which rear-legs extend above the seat to form part of the back, a segmental topbar on the back, a U-shaped piece in the back, the top of which U-shaped piece rests against the center of the segmental top-bar, the ends of the shanks of the U-shaped piece being at the back of the seat a short distance from the upper extension of the rear-legs.
A is the seat, B the legs, C the braces, crossing each other below the seat D, having a head in the front edge of the seat E, the upper extensions of the rear legs forming the side parts of the back F, a segmental bar forming the top of the back G, the U-shaped bar having its top in contact with the center of the under side of the segmental top bar F of the back and the ends of its shanks at the back of the seat A a short distance from the upper extensions of the rear legs.
