DESIGN FOR A CANE OR UMBRELLA HANDLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,554, dated March 3, 1891.
Application filed February 6, 1891, Serial Noi 380,513 Term of patent 3% years.
To ctZl whom it may concern:
lie it known that I, HENRY SCHMIDT, a citizen of the United States, residing in New York, in the county and State of New York, 5 have invented and produced a new and origi nal Design for Cane or Umbrella Handles, of which the following is a specification, refer ence being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.
IO In the drawing is shown a side elevation of a cane or umbrella handle illustratin my n ew design.
The shank A is made somewhat fan-shaped, having an enlarged flattened head 13 at the 15 top. The middle portion of the sides of the shank A are ornamented by flowenwork, as at D. The upper portion of the shank is ornamented by a series of ribs F, running in opposite directions, as shown. ihe upper portion of the shank is flattened, while the lower portion is rounded or cylindrical and is mounted by an annular band C, ornamented. The entire handle may be further ornamented by a corded edge, substantially as shown.
The handle may be made of any suitable material.
Having now described my design, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for cane or umbrella handles, substantially as herein described and shown.
