DESIGN FQR AN lNTAGLlO.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 17,399, dated June 21, 1887.
Application filed March 26, 1881. Serial No. 232,622.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, AUGUST BECKER, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county and State of New York, have in vented and produced a. new and original Design for Intaglios, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
Figure 1 is a face view of my newly-designed intaglio, and Fig. 2 is a sectional view of same on the dotted line a: m of Fig. 1.
The leading features of my design consist of the flat surface defined by two parallel edges forming an elevated border, which is in the outline substantially of a square having rounded corners, and the concavity passing downward from said border to the out figure.
In the drawings, A denotes the flat border, having parallel edges a b,- B, the concavity passing downward from the edge b, and G the figure cut in the base of said concavity.
It will be observed that the concave portion B is on a gradual curve from every point of the edge b to the figure G and terminates Term of patent 3'5 years.
along the outline of the latter, those portions 2 5 of the concavity at the corners of the stone meeting the other portions thereof and forming a single smooth-finished surface.
The figure 0 forms no part of my design, and of course may be varied as desired.
I claim- The design for an inlaglio herein shown and described, the same consisting cf the raised flat border having parallel edges a b, in outline substantially square, with rounded corners, and the concavity C, also in outline substantially square, with rounded oorneis, and curving downward from every point of the edge b to the figure, and forming a single smooth surface. o
