To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that 1', ISAAC '1. lilon'rnoss, a citizen ol. the United States, residing at Peekskill, in the county of \Vestehestcr and State of New York have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Stove, of which the following is a specification, reference being hadto the accompanying photograph, forming part thereof, which fully illustrates my design.

The legs oi'my stove,with thci r u niting plates 11, form a square frame, and the several parts areprolnsely ornamented with flat relief scrollwork and margins, as illustrated. Upon this frame the base-plate B rests, having its edges slightly beveled with a curved droop, the beveled edge bearing a scroll ornamentation, as shown at a. The ash-box C rises perpendicularl y from the hase-plate B, and is rectangular in plan, being l'orcshortencd and exposing the hearth-like surface a on plate B. The corners are rounded in the needed form, as shown at 1. The front is provided with minor, 2,v:hieh is hinged at i i, and has a catch, 0, and knob c. This door has an edge of molding, e", in relief, within which are vertical rectangular openings 3 3 3, for the pn rpose of a draft-register, which is operated by the knob 4. A small beaded molding skirts the edges of the openings 3 3 3. Upon the surface of the door are ornamental scrolls 5, as shown, the said scroll crossing and recrossing the openings 3 38, not having any ofits parts cut away to accommodate said openings, yet being sufiicienty delicate notto interfere with a proper draft-opening. The two sides of the ash-box are finished inn manner similar to the side), as shown, each side containing a relief-molding, 6, forming a panel inclosing an ornamental scroll, 7. Brackets, as at in la, spring from each side of the ash-box and support foot-rests, as at j, the reels terminating in knohsg g. The brackets and rests bear ornamentation, as shown. The ash-box is surmounted by the plate I), having aliberal ovolo margin, 0,", ornamented with a scroll trscery, as shown. On the front ed 0 said margin is adapted to receive a came ate, it.

The main body of the stove Eis rectangular in plan, except that the front and sides for the width and extending to the height of the doorspaces have an outward swell, as shown, the profile of which in the plan is convex at its outer points and concave where it joins the plane surfaces. One of the long sides-of the rectangle forms the front, and the other, of course, thebaclr, ofthe body E. The said body being thus narrower from front to hack than from side to side, and brain? placed with the back against the renrmost ice of the plain surface of the plate D leaves a hearth-like surface, m, on the plate Upon the sides it will be observed that their convexity encroaches upon the ornamental edge of plate I), as shown at 1.

The plates forming the front F and sides G representverticsl fluted columns oooo,nmted by cross-bands 1) 1i p p, similarly fluted, the reed-bands q q, and hatched hands r r at the top, the intersections of the vertical and cross bands being relieved by the rosettes s a a. The top bands, r r, are not curved as the lower ones, but are straight, and the paneled stipplo ornamentation t is likewise on a flat surface. The dome-like sections 1: a conform at their bottom horizontal edges to the curve outward of the reed-hands q, upon which they rest, arching upward and over to the flat surface 1.

The clinker-doors I I are skeleton in form. consistin of the molded frame 1: and the scroll v. The re-doors J J harmonize in shape with the clinker-doors, the ornamental scrolls diffaring, as will be seen in the illustration, and hnvin cross-rsils'bencath the scroll, one centrally iorizontal, as at o", and two vertical, as a: m, dividing the illuminated space into six lights. These doors areprovided on the Inside with the usual miea-holding frames. (latches and knobs for all these doors are provided, as shown at 10 10 10 10.

The body E is surmounted hya top, K, consisting of two curved inwardly-sloping surfaces, 11 and 12, rising in gyrumidui form to a plain square, flat, top, 1 The slopes are of an ovolo form, the first being narrower and of a sharper curve than the second one, and projecting its full width over all sides of the stove. Thescroll ornamentation on the slope 11 is similar in design to that on plates Band D. That on the second slope, 12, is in hermony with that on the dome-like sections it u.

The flat top 13 is pierced with an opening to the coal-m szine within the. stove, and is covered with t e crowning-plate L, which completos the pyramidal form of the stove-top. pnrtsnnmely, the top L and K, surmnnnled The ornamentation of this plate is in keeping with that on the slope '12. The top is surmounted by a neat vase or nrn, substantially 5 as represented.

Upon each corner of the body of the sieve are placed semicircular columnar pieeesy, ornamented as shown, and provided with the capital finish z.

The rear side oi the stove has a Ilneexterr Rion, 14, from the bottom of the nah-box to the beginning of the swell 16, at which point it curves outward in the manner shown, terminating in the top 17.

Having described my design, what I claim, and wish to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1.
