Be it known that I, EDWARD G. Gnnnnn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Erie, in the county of Erie and State of Pennsylvania, haveinvented and produced a certain new and original Design for Heating-Stoves; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, forming part of this specification.

The leading features of my design consist, substantially, in the form and ornamentation of a heating-stove embodying a stove-base, rectangular in its general contour, and ornamentation with raised scrollwork, surmounted by an upright generallyrectangular stovebody, surmountingafire-pot mounted on said base with an open-work curtain depending from an ornamental ledge around the lower part of the stove-body and having ornamental rails secured to the curtain at the sides of the stove, the stove-body above the ornamental ledge around the lower part thereof having fluted columns at the corners and ornamental scrollwork on its sides and an illuminated door with a nam e-plate panel above it surmounted by ornamental scrollwork and a pyramidal stove-top ornamented by raised scrollwork and surmounted by a scrollwork ornamental urn.

A is the base of the stove, which is substantially rectangular in its general outline, with the corners rounded and curving gradually upward and inward to the base of the fire-pot. In the rounded corners of the base A legs B are secured, so that the upper portions thereof join with and form the corner portions of the skirting C. The front of the base A comprises an ash-box door D, provided with two projecting octagonal registers d d, which have closed fronts and operating-handles thereon.

The stove-base A, the skirting O, the legs 13, and the ash-box door D are covered with ornamental scrollwork E, with a narrow smooth band e at the top of the skirting 0, extending from the sides of the door D around the sides and back of the stove-base.

Around the lower part of the rectangular stove-body there is a ledge or molding F, round somewhat at the corners and ornamented with raised scrollwork f. From the outer edge of this ledge or molding F there is a downwardly-depending curtain or skirtin g G of open scrollwork, which extends down around the fire-pot nearly to the upper part of the base A, and secured to this curtain or skirting G at the sides of the stove are side rails II, ornamented with scrollwork h. At the corners of the stove-body above the ledge or molding F are semicircular fluted columns I, which extend up under the corners of the lower section J of the stove-top. In the front of the stove-body between the columns I I, immediately above the ledge or molding F, there is an illuminated arch-topped door K, ornamented with scrollwork 7t, and above this door there is a narrow panel L, surrounded with scrollwork Z. The sides of the stovebody between the columns I are ornamented with raised scrollwork I. The lower section J of the stove-top curves outward and upward from the top of the stove-body to Where it joins the second section M of the stove-top, which curves downward and outward until it meets the upper edge of the lower section J thereof, the sections J and M of the stovetop being ornamented with raised scrollwork j and m, divided by a narrow plain band m. The third and top section N of the stove-top consists of a pyramidal section of open scrollwork at and having a polished band a at the base thereof. On the flattened top of the section N there is secured the base of an ornamental urn 0, having a shell-band 0 around the base thereof, ornamental scrollwork 0 on the body thereof, and handles 1?, ornamented with scrollwork p, on the sides thereof.

What I claim is- 1. In a design for a heating-stove, the design for the downwardly-depending curtain or skirting around the fire-pot and the footrails supported thereby at the sides of the stove, substantially as shown and described.
