Be it known that 1, CHARLES T. GROSJEAN, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city, county, and State of New York, haveiuvented anew and original Design for aSpoon- Handle, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
lhe head of the handle of the spoon is of a paddle shape surrounded by amassive molding inclosing a shell-like honeysuckle ornament at the top. There is alsoa similar ornament where the head connects with theshank, and again at the bottom where the shank ex tends into the bowl. The back is the same, except there is a honeysuckle ornament at the heel extending over about one-third of the convex bowl.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a front surface of a spoon on the handle of which is placed my design. Fig. 2 is a view of the reverse surface thereof.
a is the paddle shaped head. b is a massive molding surrounding the same, tcl'lllilldh ing at the top in a shell-like honeysuckle ornament, c. d is the shank. e is a similar honeysuckle ornament at the point where the head connects with the shank d. f is a similar honeysuckle ornament at the point where the shank connects with the bowl or tang. A honeysuckle ornament, g, covers about one third of the convex bowl of the spoon.
This design is also applicable to knife and fork handles.
I claim- The design for a spoon-handle, consisting of a paddle shaped head, a, surrounded by the massive molding b, inclosing the shell-like honeysuckle ornament c, and the honeysuckle ornaments at points where shank d connects with the head and the bowl, as shown and de scribed.
