DESlGN FOR A FIRE-PLACE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 15.153, dated July 15. 1884.
Application filed May l5, 1884. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that l, \VILLIMW H. \VILKIN SON, of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented and produced a new Design for Fire-Places, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photograph, forming part thereof.
The lintel of the fireplace is ornamented with the molded edge a, the projecting animals heads I), with circles in relief, and the leaflet and acorn ornaments at d, and the basemolding c.
The fire-place jambs terminate at the upper parts with ornamental leaflet bracket-pieces e e, and below these are leaflet and acorn ornaments d, similar to those upon the lintel. The surfaces of the fireplace back and jambs are ornamented with raised ribs crossing each other, and forming square and oblong panels containing leaflet ornaments, as at '5 i, and in the larger squares there are bird ornaments f g it upon branches in relief.
The urn ornaments at is do not form any part of this design, they being part of the and- IIOIJS.
The fender-piece is provided with a central animals -hend ornament, I1, and leaflet and acorn ornaments (1, similar to those on thelintel, and there are the urn ornaments at m and the scroll end pieces, a, as represented.
I claim as my design- 1. The design of the head I) and leaflet and acorn ornaments din relief, substantially as shown.
2. The design of the lintel,composcd of the heads b, leaflet and acorn ornaments d, and the molded edges (1 c, and the circles around the heads, substantially as shown.
3. The design ofthe ribs crossing each other with leaflet ornaments and the birds upon branches in relief, substantially as shown.
4. The design of the fendenpiccmcomposed of the head I), leaflet and acorn ornaments d in relief, the urns m, and the scroll end pieces, n, substantially as shown.
