Be it known that I, PIERRE CHARLES GRAM- RELLAN, of N ew York` city, .county and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification. v

The acconipa ying photograph illustrates my new design for carpets.

This invention' relates to a new design for carpets, oil-cloths, and analogous fabrics; and it consists of 'the new ornamentation of parts, hereinafter more vfully pointed out.

In the accompanying photograph the central-and most prominent gro up is a bouquet, A, of iowers, the owers radiating from the bouquet n various directions. Thus 'the tuliplike ower a projects upward toward the right, the hyacinth'b upward toward the left, the small peony-like ower d downward toward the left, and the bunch of zinnia-like flowers e downward toward the right, these radiating flowers bein@ clustered around the main central group o? roses, peonies, and other flowers, as shown. Above this bouquet Ais aspray of iowers, B, a similar spray, B, being` below the bouquet A. Aseries of leaves, f, subdued in tint ascornpared with the promnency of the bouquet and spray of` owers, ill the background of this carpet between and around the said floral decorations, and add to the picturesqueness of the design.

I claiml The design for carpets, consisting of the bouquet A, spray B, and leaves f, substantially as shown.
