H. CLAY BASCOM, FRANCIS RITCHIE, AND CYRUS A. HODGES, F TROY, NEW YORK, ASSIGNORS TO THE N. S. VEDDER PATTERN VORKS, BASCOM, GALBRAITH & CO., 0F SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A STOVE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,091, dated January 4, 1881.
Application filed November 24. 1880. Term of patent 35 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, H. OLAY BAscoM, FRANCIS RITCHIE, and CYRUs A. HoDGEs, each of the city of Troy, in the couty of Rensselaer and State of New York, have jointly invented a new and original ornamental Design for Cooking-Stoves, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying cut, print, or engraving ot' o a stove having our said new design.
The design of the compound panel ornament A consists of the raised quadrilateral surface b, having round corners, the peculiar compound ornament c c, extending diagonally7 I 5 across the part b from one corner to the opposite one and upon the band d, and the two triangles c f g, having therein the compound stalk, leaf, and fiower ornament h h' and the ornaments i 'i' at the angles, all shaped and zo arranged together as represented in the a-ccompanying print.
The design for the panel-border B consists of the outer ornamental molding, j, the corner ornaments lc, and the side ornanents, l, each composed of a tillet-border, l', with rounded endsandsurronndingthe rowofoblongpointed ornanents P. the whole being shaped and combined as shown in the accompanying engraving.
The design for the doors C D consists of the compound panel ornament A and compound panel-border B, each composed as above specified, and both arranged together so as to present the combined appearance represented in the accompany/ing cut.
The design for the door or panel E consists of the compound panel-border, composed of the parts m n o, and the central compound ornament, F, all shaped and arranged together 40 as shown in the aforesaid print.
The design for the front door, G, consists of the upper panel, H, having the two quadrilateral illuminatiou-apertures p, with truncate corners, and the intermediate and lateral ornaments q, the lower projecting panel, I, having the four draft-apertures r, with arched tops and iutermedate and lateral ornaments s, and the middle panel, J, inclined to the panels H I, and having the oblong rectangular tablet t,
all shaped and arranged together as represented in the aforesaid engraving.
The design for the legs consists of the central downwardly-pointin g shield, K, composed of the ornamental border-molding u, havinga straight top and convergingly-curved sides, central ornament, c,`and outside pendent orna- 1nent,w, and the two ornamental flank-shields L L', each shaped and all combined as shown in the aforesaid cut.
VVhat we claim as our invention is- 1. The design for the compound panel ornament A, composed of the parts b, c c, d, e f g, h h', and 'i i', all shaped and arranged together as set forth.
2. The design for the panel-border B, composed ofthe parts j k l l' P, all shaped and arran ged together as set forth. I
3. The design for the doors U D, consisting of the compound panel ornament A and the compound panel-border B, eachcomposed and bot-h combined as described and shown.
4. The design for the door or panel E, composed of the parts m, n, o, and F, all shaped and arranged together as set forth.
5. The design for the front door, G, composed of the parts H p q, I r s, and J t, all shaped and arranged together as shown and described.
6. The'design for the legs, consisting of the parts K u c w and L L', all shaped and combined as set forth.
