GEORGE GILL, OF STRATFORD, ASSIGNOR TO ROGERS 8L BRITTIN SILVER COMPANY, OF BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT.
DESIGN FOR SPOON AND FORK HANDLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 11,822, dated June 15, 1880.
Application liled May 10, 1880. Term of patent 3g years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEO. GILL, of Stratford, in the county of Fairfield and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Design for Spoon and Fork Handles; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, and the letters ot' reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawing constitutes partof this specification, and represents face view.
This invention relates to a design for spoon and fork handles; and it consists in the ornamentation, as shown in the accompanying illustration.
The outline of the handle is that known as Gothic or lancet shape. At the narrower portion of the handle is a diagonal band, a, with a transverse bead, b, across it. Froin this band a double bead extends upward on each edge to the top. Transversely across the broadest part of the handle, between said two beads, is a band representing a series of tassels, with a bead above and below them. The space above the band represents lace-work, with a rose at the tip, all as shown in the accoinpanyin g illustration.
I claim- The design for spoon and fork handles, consisting of the Gothic outline with the diagonal band a at the narrower portion ol' the handle, with a transverse bead, b, across it, with a double bead on each edge from the said band to the tip, a transverse band across the broader part of the handle, between the beads, representing a series of tassels, with a bead above and below, and the space above the said band representing lace-work, with a rose at the tip, as shown in the accoinl'ianying illustration.
