DESIGN FOR A SPOON, FORK, 80c.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 23,163, dated April 3, 1894.
Application filed March 1, 1894. Serial No. 501,998. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
handle are irregular curves the two edges not Be it known that I, SIDNEY SMITH, a citizen corresponding with each other. Both sides of of the United States, residing at Bridgeport, in the county of Fairfield and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Spoons, Forks, and Similar Articles; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a view of the upper or obverse side of a spoon embodying my novel design and Fig. 2 is a similar View illustrating the back or reverse side of my novel design which in this instance is embodied in a fork, the embodiment thereof in a spoon being indicated by dotted lines.
The leading features of my novel design consist of the shape and ornamentation of the obverse and reverse as herein described and shown. The outlines of both edges of the the handle are ornamented with conventional rococo ornamentation.
1 denotes the center which is plain and may be either flat or rounded, and 2 denotes conventional rococo ornamentation. At the base of the handle on the obverse side I provide
