DESIGN FOR SPOONS AND FORKS.
Specification forming part of Design No. 11,171, dated April 2'3, 1879; application filed Fehrnary l7, lSTEl. [Term of patent 7 years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY W. Hrnson- FELD, of West Meriden, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Design for Spoons and Forks; and Ido hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing and the letters of reference marked thereon, to he a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawing constitutes part of this specification, and represents a face view.
This invention relates to a design for the handle of spoons, forks, and like articles of table-service; and consists in the configuration and ornamentation herein described, and shown in the accompanying illustration.
About midway of the length of the handle is a boss, a, from which the handle gradually expands toward the end, with a head on each side, turning inward at the end in semicircular form, meeting at the center, and snrmounted by a Gothic-shaped tip, I), as shown. Diagonally across the face of the handle is an ornamented band, 0, which is the chief characteristic of the ornamental part of the design.
I claim The design for spoon and fork handle, consisting of a boss, a, from which thehandleexpands toward the end, with a head on each edge meeting at the end in substantially two semicircles, surmounted by a Gothic-shaped tip, 0, and with a diagonal band across the face, as described, and shown in the accompa nying illustrations.
