HENRY L. YEALLACE, OF WALLINGFORD, CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNOR TO WALLACE BROTHERS, CF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR SPOONS.
Specification forming part of Design No. 10,664, dated April 30, 1878; application filed April 19, 1878.
[Term of patent 7 years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY L. WALLACE, of Wallingford, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Improvement in Design for Spoons; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawing constitutes part of this specification, and represents, in
Figure 1, a face View.
This invention relates to a design for handles for spoons, forks, and like articles of tableservice; and consists in the configuration and ornamentation as hereinafter described, and shown in the accompanying illustration.
The tip of the handle is of sharp Gothic or lancet shape thence gradually contracting to about half t e handle to a large boss, which is there formed; thence the handle contracts,
and continues to the bowl in substantially the usual form.
The handle above the boss is ornamented by a bead around the edge, and the surface within that head ornamented by two branches of Horiated tracery, starting at the boss, and running up each side and joined at the point, leaving a central plain surface, I), as shown.
I claim- The design for handle, consisting of the tip, of lancet shape, starting from aboss below, and ornamented by a floriated tracery, starting from the said boss, running up each side, and joining at the tip, leaving a plain surface in the center, as shown in the accompanying il lustration.
