DESIGN FOR FONT OF PRINTING-TYPES.

Specification forming part of Design No. 10,665, dated May 7, 1878; application filed April 25, 1878. [Term of patent 14 years] To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JAMES M. OONNER, of Greenville, Hudson county, New Jersey, have invented and produced a new Design for a Font of Printing-Type, of which the following is a specification:

The nature of my design is clearly shown in the accompanying specification, to which reference is made; and consists of an unshaded letter in which the left-hand portion is extended below the right-hand portion, and terminates in the angular termination, as shown.

The present design differs from the type known as Grotesque, shown in Conners specimen-book, and the type known as M0- nastic, shown in the specimen-book of Mac- Kellar, Smiths & Jordan, in that several of the letters are provided with the triangular termination at the bottom of the right-hand portion and at the top termination of others of the letters, and that the cross-strokes of the letters A, H, and others are differently formed. In the figures the design is preserved, as shown in the 3, 5, 7, and 9. In the h, j, and y of the lower-case, the design is preserved, and the triangular terminations characterize the letters f, i, l, m, n, p, u, v, w, and x.

Having now set forth my invention, what I claim as new is The design for a font of printing-type, as shown and described.
