To all whom it may concern: i.

Be it known 'that we, linnnnnicn PARKER. Vian and HENRY Jenn Buoounron, subjects of the King of Great Britain, residing at Ecnuca,.in the State o'il Victoria, in the Coininonwealth of Australia, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Brushes; and.v we do hereby declare the `following to be a full, clear1 and exact description oi the invention, such is-Will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to .make and use the same.

The object of this invention primarily is to provide in alight, compact and inexpensive f-i'orm an improved reservoir brush oi that description in which the color or other iluid (hereinafter referred to as color for the pun pose of brevity) may be drawn from the bowl or other receptacle into a fountain or reservoir formed in the brush handle and forced at will therefrom through a suitable outlet to the hairs or -fibers oi the brush.

Another object of the invention is to pio vide means whereby the color contained in the reservoir or fountain may be conveniently discharged through an opening formed within. the brsuli holder in a uniform flow, T his 'openingis regulated by a valve which is conveniently adjusted by the relative posi- -handle Referring now to the accompanying sheet of drawings which illustrate the invention. The brush-holder 2 is then twisted or screwed back into the fcrrule or color casing 4 to a sufiicient extent to regulate the opening to and from the valve chamber 5 by means of the relative position ci the valve 6. Ey these vmeans when the outer casing 9 is moved forwardly towards -85 the brush proper by the user the color flows uniformly and in a regulated quantity to the hairs or iibers of the brush.

The parts oi the brush may be made of any suitable material, but the portions which come in contact with the color are preferably made of brass in order to prevent corrosion. lt will be well understood, however, that sundry modifications in the design-and details 'of the invention mayV be made while 95 still retaining essential features.

Vtlliat we claim asour invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:

l. ln a brush, a color reservoir formed in the handle, a movable brush-holder, which 10o has a tube arranged therein constituting the outlet from the reservoir, inserted in said handle, a valve adapted to control the inlet to and outlet from the col-or reservoir by the relative positioning of the brush holder within the color reservoir, and a sleevel closed at oneend fitting over said color reservoir capable of telescopic movement thereon i and constituting a plunger for said reservoir.
