Be it' known that l, BERTHA GALiJAND', a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city of New York, borough olf' Manhattan,

in vthe county and State of New York, have invented a new and Im roved Garment, of Which the following .is a ull, clear, and exact description..

The inventiont relates to night-gowns, wrappers, kimonos and the like, and its object is to provide an expensive yoke, and a durable body of ordinary white goods, to permit of washing the body as ofteiias required inde endent oi' tlie yoke and without sub'ecting t eeX ensive yoke to the ruinous was 'mg actionf tL e oke being only cleaned from time to time, t us insuring long life to the yoke and permitting its use with a numbe'r of bodies.

The invention consists of novel features and parts and combinations of `the same, which will be more fully described hereinafter and then pointed out in the claims.

Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the views.

The yoke A of the garment is preferabl madeof lace or other expensive materiell while the body Bis oi' ordinary plain white goods and is removably attached to the oke A. For the pur ose mentioned the yo re A is provided at its ower end with a de ending band A', to which is removably attac ed the upper end of the body B by use of suitable fastening devices such,for instance, as buttons C secured to the band A and engaging button holes B on the u per end of the body B. It will also be noticed that by separating the yoke A from .the body B the latter can be conveniently was ed without subjecting the yoke A to the ruinous washing operation, the yoke A being cleansed from time to time in the usual inan` ner, so that it is not injured, .and consequently one siiigle'yoke readily outlasts a number of bodies B, thus providing an economical garment for the user.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent;

4. A night gown, wrapper, kimono or like garment, comprising a yoke, a body detaehably secured to said yoke, a covering flap dependin from the lower end of the yoke and over ying the joint between the body and the yoke, `the said flap being provided with a lacing band.
