To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, MARGRET E. Fonnnsr, a citizen of the United States, residing at Jamestown, in the county of Mercer and State of Pennsylvania, have invented new and useful Improvements in Mop-Holders, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to mop-holders; and its primary object is to provide a novel and highly useful device of this character which is designed to support a mop in advance of the discharge end of a hose-nozzle, whereby to provide a fountain-mop.

With the above and other objects in view the invention consists in the construction, combination, and arrangement of parts hereinafter fully described, claimed and illustrated in the accompanying drawing, wherein the figure is a perspective of a mop-holder constructed in accordance with my invention.

Referring to the drawing by reference-numerals, 2 designates a hose-nozzle, which is of the usual construction and which is provided with diametrically-opposed sockets 3, located adjacent its lower end. Arms 4, which are preferably constructed of steel wire, have their outer ends flattened to provide jaws 5, having serrated acting faces, and their inner ends bent at right angles to provide attaching members 6. The arms are fixedly secured to the nozzle 2 by placing and securing the ends of the attaching mem- This manner of securing the arms to the nozzle positions the jaws 5 beyond the discharge end thereof and arranges their active faces in opposition. The arms at a point beyond the attaching members 6 are bent to provide spring-loops 7, which yieldingly retain the aws opened. A mop is adapted to be secured between the jaws 5, which are adapted to be closed upon the mop by means of an operating member 8, slidably mounted upon the arms 4. When it is desired to close the jaws 5, the operating member 8 is moved outwardly upon the arms 4, and when it is desired to permit the jaws 5 to spring into opened position the member is moved inwardly upon the arms. A mopholder so applied to a hose-nozzle may be used in connection with a hose for the purpose of providing'a fountain-mop which may be utilized for washing windows and vehicles.

As the hose-nozzle is provided with a threaded extension 9, the mop-holder maybe used in connection with a handle 10, provided with an internally-threaded socket 11 to permit the use of a mop for the purpose of drying windows and vehicles and for other uses where a fountain-mop is not desired.

From the foregoing description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, the construction and mode of operation of the invention will be understood without a further extended description.

Changes in the form,proportions, and minor details of construction may be made within the scope of the invention without departing from the spirit or sacrificing any of the advantages thereof.

\ Having fully described and illustrated my invention, what I claim is 1. The combination with a hose-nozzle, of arms fixedly secured thereto, said arms hav ing their outer ends flattened to provide jaws formed with serrated acting faces and their inner ends bent at right angles to provide attaching members, said arms being bent at points beyond the attaching members to provide spring-loops adapted to yieldingly retain the jaws opened, and a jaw-operating member slidably mounted upon the arms.

2. The combination with a hose-nozzle, of

arms fixedly secured thereto, said arms having their outer ends formed to provide jaws and their inner ends bent to provide attaching members, said arms being bent at points beyond the attaching members to provide spring-loops adapted to yieldingly retain the jaws opened, and a jaw-operating member slidably mounted upon the arms.
