To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, WILLIAM S. LODGE, a citizen of the United States of America, and a resident of the city and county of Albany, State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Ladies Undergarments, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to ladies undergarments constructed of knit goods; and the ob ject of my invention is to provide a vest of knit goods so constructed that the garment shall be full in front. I accomplish this objeot by means of the mechanism illustrated. in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is an elevation of a vest before being closed at the shoulders provided with my invention. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a completed vest provided with my invention.
The vest A is preferably cut low in the neck, and the armholes B B for the sleeves are cut entirely out of the back, in order to narrow the back and widen the bust portion of the garment, this arrangement causing all the fullness of the garment to come to the front thereof. These garments are made on cylinder-frames There is considerable give to the goods.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. A waist-garment, having the armholes cut entirely out of the back, in order to narrow the back and widen the bust portion of the garment.
2. A waist-garment, made from a tubular web, having the armholes cut entirely out of the back, in order to narrow the back and widen the bust portion of the garment.
