'TO 'ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Be it known that I, FRANK H. WILSON, of Wethersfield, in the county of Wyoming, and in the State et' New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Cheese-.Box and Butter-Tubs; and do hereby declare that the following is Ie. full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.

In theannexed drawingsfmaking p'art of this specification, A represents a cheese-box or a butter-tub, constructcd as these articles generally are, and provided with the usual cover or top B. Upon the outside of the box, near its mouth, is` formed a. lug or projection, d, one upon each side, and on the inside of the cover-rim, near its lower edge, is also formed a lug or projection, e. When 'the cover is placed on the box, it is turned partially around, until the lugs e e catch under those marked d d, on the box. By the catching of the lugs of the cover under those of the box, the cover is held securely to the box when desirable. A very simple and cheap fastening is thus made. I I

I am aware that a box or tub having a pin' en its side, which works into an eccentric slot in the cov'er thereof, is not new. By my invention the cover is 4not slotted or weakened, and the devices can be readily attached to any boxes or tubs in use. "i

What I claim is- The arrangement of the box or tub A, with its cover B; box A having a flat metal shoulder, d, on each sidc,41ear its top, and cover B having similar metal shoulders e, on its inner flange, as and for the purposes set forth.v v
