IMPROVEMENT IN LIETING-J'AGK.

`Be it known,thatlI, ABRAHAM C. B'BINSER, of Middletown, Dauphin county, and State of Pennsylvania,

have invented an Improved LiftingJack-; and I do hereby declare the following to -be an exact description i thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, making a part of this specification.

The nature of my invention consists in the square reversible link and rope on top of the lever, in combina-` tion with the stationary bolts on the post.V

A represents the platform or plank that s'upports'the jack; B, the upright post. C are the bolts running through the post, that are made stationary and permanent'by being bolted or riveted on each end.` D is a stay, extending from the pos'ttoltbe plank A to support the post. E isV the lever, witha notch, G, to rest'upon any of the bolts or stationary pins C. On the top of the lever E is an 4adjustable and reversible square link, H,

that is adjusted and set against the post B, to brace the lever and bear against the post, so as to support the axle of a wagon or any similar weight when raised, and hold it securely to its place, and when the axle is to be lowered, the link is yreversed or drawn back by means of the rope J, `'that is connected t-othe link H land the lever E, as shown b'y the red lines, thellink H operating on'a hinge, K, on the top of the lever E.

What I claim, as my invention, and desireto secure by Letters Patent,.is

The square reversible link H, with its rope J', when arranged and combined with the movable lever E and postB, with its stationary pins or riveted bolts C, as herein described and for the pnrposes set forth.
