STAND Foe LADIES FIGURES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 49,145, dated August 1, 1865. i
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOSEPH R. IALMEN- BERG, ot' New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improved Stand for Ladies Dress-Frames and similar Articles; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
Figure I represents an elevation of my improved stand, and Fig. Il is a top view of the same.
The nature of my invention consists in an improvement of the stand for which Letters Patent were granted 4to me on the 7th day of February, 1860, and whereby the manufacture of said stand is much facilitated, while at the same time greater strength and durability is obtained. A v
The wooden standard A, which may be made of metal tubing, but which I prefer to make of wood, is made in several parts, having on its top a cap, J, screwed on, which fastens theiigure or any other similar article to the stand. The lower part, O, ofthe standard A is square, so as to form straight surfaces to receive the ends of the bent frames F, forming the feet for the stand. These frames F are attached to the standard A by means of bolts a c, provided with nuts, passing through two `frames and the standard, by which arrangement the twb u site each other, are connected together by bars fw, and which said bars are again fastened together at the point of their intersection by u means of a screw-bolt, '0.
By this arrangement and construction a strong and substantial stand is obtained, which can easily be taken apart and put together again, and which, when taken apart for transportation, will occupy only very little space, causing thereby a great saving in thc expense.
