This invention appertains to garment supporters, and more particularly to a novel form of trouser suspenders.

With these and other objects in view, the invention consists in the novel ment, and formation of construction, arrangeparts, as will be hereinafter more specifically described, claimed, and illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which drawing Figure l is a front view showing my improved suspenders in use, parts of being shown broken away the shirt and trousers to illustrate the manner in which the skirt of the shirt is held.

Figure 2 is an enlarged one of the novel detail view illustrating supporting members carried by the front of one of the shoulder straps.

Referring to the drawing in detail, wherein similar reference characters designate corre- 5 spending parts throughout the several views, the letter S generally indicates my improved pair of suspenders for supporting a pair of trousers T. As stated, the suspenders are adapted to be worn under the shirt W.

In accordance with my invention, the trouser supporting buttons 5 are sewed to the inside of the waistband of the trousers T, and these buttons are located and spaced in the usual manner. The shirt W is of the usual or any preferred type, 15 provided with the ordinary skirt, which is divided to form the tail 6 and the front flaps 1. In order to prevent the bunching of the shirt, and to give the same a neat appearance, I prefer to notch or cut the lower edge of the shirt tail 6, as at 8.

My improved pair of suspenders S includes shoulder straps [0, which can be substantially of the ordinary type, and the rear ends of the straps are firmly secured together and provided with the centrally disposed depending back strap H. The 5 shoulder straps l0 can be made adjustable as tolength to suit the size of the person wearing the same. The front lower ends of the shoulder straps l0 carry slides 12 for the spreader tabs l3, and the slides are normally held closed by snap 30 fasteners l4. By opening the slides the spreader tabs I3 can be removed from the shoulder straps. The back strap II also carries a slide l5 for receiving the rear spreader tab l6, and the rear slide [5 is held closed by snap fasteners l1, so that the spreader tab it can be removed from the back strap.

The terminals of all of the spreader tabs carry novel means for engaging the shirt and the buttons of the trousers, and each one of these members consists of an elongated depending loop l8 formed from resilient wire. Each loop 18 consists of spaced, substantially parallel legs l9, and a lower connecting bite portion 20. The upper 45 end of one leg is bent at an angle, as at 2|, and is provided with an eye 22 for connection with a spreader tab terminal. The other leg l9 ter minates below the angular end 2| of the first leg, and said second leg is provided with a right- 50 angularly disposed extension 23, which terminates in a hook 24 for engagement with a trouser button 5. The open end of the hook can be closed by the swinging gate 25, so that after the hook is placed over the button, the gate can be swung 55 under the shirt down so as to prevent accidental displacement of the button from its hook. 5

In use of my improved pair of suspenders, the front and the loops l8 of said tabs can be placed on the inside of the trousers by connecting the hooks 24 thereof with the buttons. The trousers can now be placed on the person, and the shoulder straps swung over the shoulder after which the slide Li can be connected with the rear spreader tab I 6. The shoulder straps [0 can now be grasped by the wearer, and the front slides I 2 can be connected with the front spreader tabs H. The shirt can now be'placed on the wearer, and the tail 6 of the skirt of wardly between the legs I9 of the loops I8, as is clearly shown in Figure 3 of the drawing. Y

The front flaps 1 of the skirt of the shirt are now brought forwardly, and are placed between the legs I9, of the loops 18 carried bye the front spreader tabs 13. Due to the'inherent resiliency of the material from which the loops are formed the same will frictionally engage the skirt of the shirt, and thus effectively prevent the shirt from riding up.

By providing the depending loops, the skirtof the shirt carp be pulled downwardly below the waistband of the trousers, and at the same time the trousers can be efiectively supported.

From the foregoing description it can be seen that I have provided an improved pair of inside suspenders, which will not only: the trousers, but which will hold the shirt in a neat and presentable appearance.

Changes in; details may be made without departing from the spirit or the scope of my inventien, but what I claim as new is: i

1. A pair of suspenders adapted tecomprising a pair of straps, front and rear spreader tabs carried by the shoulder straps, releasable slides connecting the shirt is pushed downthe spreader tabs with the shoulder straps, whereby said tabs can be removably associated with the shoulder straps, depending elongated resilient shirt-receiving loops carried by the terminals of the spreader tabs, button-engaging hooks on said loops adjacent to the upper ends thereofand piveted gates carried by said loops movablepver theopen ends of the hooks. 2. In a pair of inside suspenders an elongated shirt-receiving loop including a short leg, along leg, and a resilient connecting bottom bite portion, a right-anguiarly extending ,arm onthe upper terminal of the short leg, a button-engaging hook on said arm, an angularly extending arm end of the long leg diverging ;from 7 suspension loop on the last-mentioned arm, said arms defining a flaring throat entrance into said 100p, and a swinging gate on the first-mentioned arm movable over the open end of said hook.

3. In a pair of inside sus enders, an elongated U-shaped shirt-receiving loop including a short leg, a long leg, and a resilient connecting bite portion, a right-angularly extending arm formed on the upper terminal ofthe short leg, a buttonengaging hook on said arm, an angu larly extendingi arm on. the upper end of theilong leg diverging from thefirst-mentioned arm and overlying the same, and a suspension loop formed on the last-mentioned arm, said arms defining a flaring throat entrance into the first-mentioned loop.

4. A pairpfinside'suspend'ers comprising shoulder straps, front and rear spreader tabs associated with the shoulder straps, independent resilient enlongated ,U-shaped shirt-receiving loops carried by each terminal of the tabs and depending therefrom, and trouser-button engaging hooks formed on the loops adjacent'to the upper 40 ends thereof. 7
