The space beneath the handle of the brush is utilized for the reception of dent-al accessories, and to that end a suitably disposed tongue 24, similar to the tongue 14, is preferably struck up-from the base strip to afford appropriate compartments. When the receptacle is used for a toothbrush having interchangeable heads, such as a brush head 25 and rubber massaging' heads' 26, oneY ofthe compartments aords a convenient receptacle for a supply of the latter and the other compartment for the reception of dentifrice. As seen in Fig. 3 the handle proper is provided at its inner end with a longitudinally split tang 27 which may be forcibly inserted in a suitableopening inthe brush head or in a massaging head.

The inner side of the hinged wall 2O is preferably provided with parallel longitudinal ribs or lips 28 adapted to support dentifrice 29 in convenient position for use in conjunction with the toothbrush when the receptacle is open, which dentifrice is preferably in cake or tablet form. From the foregoing it will be seen that my invention provides a simple, inexpensive, durable and compact trough-like receptacle wherein the handle of a toothbrush constitutes an efficient closure for the top of the receptacle, and wherein by the simple act'of opening the hinged side wall 20, thetoothbrush and the contents of the receptacle are fully exposed in such a way that they can be severally removed with facility .for use'. Further, the brush, &c., can be as readily replaced in the receptacle and the latter be effectually closed.4 v My invention is not limited to the exact details of construction herein disclosed, as the elements may be modied within the principle of my invention and the scope of the appended claims. i
