H. G. & D. SNYDER. Folding Clothes-Horses..
Patented Jan. 20. I874.

am m UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
HENRY O. SNYDER AND DANIEL SNYDER, OF BRISTOL, PENNSYLVANIA.
IMPROVEMENT lN FOLDING CLOTHES-HORSES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. [46,719, dated January 20, 1874; application filed December 31, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, HENRY G. SNYDER and DANIEL SNYDER, both of the borough of Bristol, Bucks county, State of Pennsylvania, have invented an Improved Folding Clothes Horse, of which the following is a specification:
' The object of our invention is to rigidly connect the parts of a folding clothes-horse when extended by diagonal braces A hinged at their inner ends to the central post B, and adapted at their outer ends to guidingrods D secured to the hinged arms F of the horse, all as shown in the enlarged side View, Figure 1 of the accompanying drawing.
The complete clotheshorse is shown in the side elevation, Fig. 2, and plan view, Fig. 3; and consists, as usual, of a central post, B,
.havin g folding or hinged arms F, each of which each arm to the central post by a diagonal brace, A, hinged at its inner end to the post, and having an eye, h, at its outer end, which is adapted to a guiding-rod, D, secured to the under side of one of the linksa of the arm. This guidingrod D is bent or depressed at its outer end, so as to form a shoulder, k, which, with the diagonal brace, forms an eifectual lock to prevent accidental movement of the extended arm. By simply lifting the brace, however, in the direction of the arrow, Fig. 1, so as to clear the shoulder k, it will offer no further obstruction to the folding of I the arm against the post, but will slide freely along the guiding-rod D and be self-accommodating to the position of the said arm, as indicated by dotted lines in Fig. 1.
We claim as our invention- 1 The combination of a diagonal brace, A, and
HENRY G. SNYDER. DANIEL SNYDER.
