I IMPROVEMENT IN HORSE-POWERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 123,614, dated February 13, 1872.
two end pieces B, the three top pieces 0, and
the bolts D, the end pieces being arranged upon the ends of the pieces A, perpendicular to them, and the top pieces being parallel to the bed pieces and above them, the said pieces being suitably boxed or notched where they match or fit upon each other. The end pieces have elevations E at the center of the upper sides for supporting the center top piece above the master-wheel F high enough to'provide room for said Wheel. I also propose to extend the pinion-shaft G under the master-wheel to the step H of the vertical shaft, and thus pro vide it with a bearing in addition to the outer one, I, commonly used, thereby greatly relieving the outer bearing, and supporting the said shaft more permanently than when only one alone is used.
It will be seen that my improved construction of the frame is very simple and cheap, but is also strong and durable.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The horse-power frame, consisting of the bed pieces A, end pieces B, top pieces 0, and the bolts D, all being arranged substantially as specified.
