Abstract

Description

許魷伺服無線網路控制器控制B節點清除之系統
本發明與無線電通訊領域有關,更特定言之,本發明與提供伺服無線電網路控制器的允許B節點之清除控制之系統及方法有關。
第三代(3G)通用地面無線電存取網路(UTRAN)包括許多無線電網路控制器(RNC),每一個無線電網路控制器耦合至一或更多B節點,每一個B節點包括一或更多服務一或更多胞元的基地台,該B節點必然與一或更多使用者設備(UE)通訊。
包括分頻雙工(FDD)及分時雙工(TDD)模式的3G系統典型上使用RNC來分佈(亦即,緩衝及排程)至UE的資料傳輸。然而,對3G蜂巢系統的高速頻道,資料是由B節點分佈。例如,這些高速頻道的其中一個為高速下鏈分享頻道(HS-DSCH)。因資料由B節點分佈,在傳輸至UE前,需先緩衝在B節點的資料。
有許多在B節點緩衝的資料不再有用的案例,且其存在會阻礙系統的有效操作。例如,第一個案例為當可移動UE自一個胞元移動至另一個。此會導致HS-DSCH胞元變化(由此該UE由另一個B節點服務),或者在相同B節點的胞元間切換。"舊的資料"(亦即,在HS-DSCH胞元變化前在B節點內緩衝準備傳輸至UE的資料)在HS-DSCH胞元變化後不再是有用的,若B節點持續緩衝及傳送此資料,其浪費緩衝資源及無線電鏈路資源。希望能自該緩衝清除此舊資料及停止此資料的傳輸,因此作法節省緩衝資 源及無線電鏈路資源。
第二個案例與無線電鏈路控制器(RLC)層有關。RLC層在伺服無線電網路控制器(SRNC)及UE皆為對等實體,有時存在當RLC點對點協定失效,且RLC重新設定其本身的機會。RLC失效的原因為因情況而異的且此種原因不在本發明範圍內。然而,一旦RLC重新設定其本身,由於RLC重新同步及重新開始傳輸,先前在B節點緩衝的資料不再為有用的。此已緩衝的資料僅會引起傳輸延遲及不必要的無線電資源之使用,若被傳輸,此資料只會由RLC對等實體捨棄。
第三個案例與藉由RLC在確認模式(AM)的資料之依序傳送有關。該AM RLC的要求為確認通訊協定資料單元(PDU)的依序傳送發生。RLC使用與每一個PDU關聯的序號(SN)以確認PDU的依序傳送至較高層。當有失序傳送(亦即,當找不到PDU時)時,在UE的RLC傳送狀態報告PDU至其在B節點的對等實體,要求重新傳輸該遺漏的PDU,一旦接到狀態報告PDU,在RNC的對等實體重新傳輸該遺漏的PDU之複本。
基於許多理由,高度希望已重新傳輸的PDU儘可能快速到達接收側(亦即,該UE)的RLC。首先,因依序傳送的要求,遺漏的PDU會防止後續的PDU向前送至較高層,第二,UE的緩衝尺寸需足夠大以容納重新傳輸的延遲,並仍維持有效的資料速率,延遲愈長,UE的緩衝尺寸必須愈大以容許UE緩衝停滯的PDU及持續的資料接收,直到正確的序列PDU可被向前送至較高層。較大的緩衝尺寸造成UE的增加硬體成本。這是非常不期望的。
第1圖為包括RNC、B節點、UE及其相關聯的緩衝器的習知系統。在此習知系統,具有SN=3的PDU未被UE成功接收。因此,UE中的RLC要求在RNC的其對等RLC層重新傳輸。同時,具有SN=6-9的PDU在B節點被緩衝,且具有SN=4及5的PDU在UE被緩衝。應注意的是雖然第1圖僅顯示被緩衝的數個PDU,事實上更多PDU(例如100或更多)及來自其他RLC 對等的PDU可被緩衝。
如第2圖所示,具有SN=3的PDU的重新傳輸必須在B節點緩衝的佇列末端等待,且僅在具有SN=6-9的PDU被傳輸後才被傳輸。直到所有PDU依序被接收為止,在UE中的PDU無法向前送至較高層。在此情況下,具有SN=3的PDU停止後續的PDU向前送至較高層(亦即,SN=4-9),假設所有PDU被成功傳輸。注意此實例僅反映10個PDU,但是在正常操作中數百個PDU可在重新傳輸的資料PDU之前被排程,其更使傳輸的延遲及資料緩衝議題惡化。
上述案例儘為許多實例的少數,其中清除B節點中的資料將使無線電通訊系統更有效率操作。
希望有一種系統及方法,藉此RNC可控制在B節點緩衝的不再有用的資料之清除。在許多情況下,此緩衝資料的刪除會使系統更有效操作。
本發明包括一種允許RNC控制在B節點緩衝的資料的清除之系統及方法。清除指令刪除與特定UE關聯的B節點緩衝資料。基於在RNC實施的特定資料清除觸發事件,RNC確定清除特定UE的所有資料、在一或許多使用者優先順序傳輸佇列中或在B節點的一或更多邏輯頻道中的資料,RNC接著通知B節點需要清除傳輸資料,清除指令可包括B節點在接收到從RNC起始的現有(習知)程序時清除資料的配置、可包括特定地要求B節點的資料清除的全新程序、或是可存在於現有程序內或是作為表明B節點清除要求的位元或資訊元素的資料傳輸訊框中。

依清除觸發事件而定,與UE關聯的所有資料、與UE關聯的特定資料流的資料、或與UE關聯的一或更多邏輯頻道的資料可被要求以用於在B節點的清除。
例如,在伺服HS-DSCH胞元變化的情況下,在伺服HS-DSCH胞元變化後,在來源B節點緩衝的所有UE資料不再為有用的。RNC清除來源B節點以釋出所有緩衝器中與UE關聯的所有資料,使得沒有任何無線電資源浪費在不必要的資料傳輸上。
在RLC重新設定或RLC重新傳輸的情況下,RNC可藉由傳輸優先順序佇列、或者與RLC實例關聯的邏輯頻道來為特定UE選擇性地清除在B節點緩衝的資料。在RLC重新傳輸的情況下,清除功能會降低RLC重新傳輸的延遲,且在RLC重新設定的情況下,清除功能會避免無線電資源的浪費。
再一次參考第3A圖,RNC確定是否已接收到觸發事件(步驟14),若未接收,則RNC回到步驟12並持續等待觸發事件的發生。若已偵測到觸發事件,則RNC傳送清除訊息至B節點,清除訊息顯示B節點應清除與UE關聯的所欲資料(步驟16),此可為在與一或更多資料流關聯的一或更多緩衝中的資料。在B節點接收該訊息後(步驟18),其清除所欲緩衝(步驟20)。
根據本發明的方法10,應瞭解在B節點內資料的清除刪除了不再是有用的資料及釋放在B節點的資料緩衝資源及不必要被分配用於傳輸此資料的無線電資源。
本領域中具有通常知識者也應了解由步驟16顯示的清除訊息可包括任何一或更多下列替代方式。在清除訊息的第一替代方式中,在現有UTRAN程序內的清除訊息在RNC及B節點間發出訊息,因此B節點被配置為由B節點接收的訊息起始清除。在此替代方式中,在現有程序中的資料清除為隱含的且僅僅是訊息接收,沒有任何額外的傳訊,造成即使是該訊息是與完全不同的功能有關的資料清除。此隱含關聯可以訊框協定資料訊框發生、可在RLC PDU攜帶、或是可以先前技藝訊息的資訊元素或B節點應用部份(NBAP)或無線電網路子系統應用部份(NASAP)的程序被攜帶而發生。

最後,確認訊息的第三替代方式中,從B節點至RNC的現有訊息被預先配置為表明清除功能的確認,即使在訊息中沒有任何特定保留用於確認的訊框。本領域中具有通常知識者應瞭解,依據特定情況,可使用其他可達到適當系統操作的方法以確認清除功能。
無論確認形式為何,應注意確認可包括許多功能,首先,其可包括B節點確認完成清除功能。或者,其可提供在B節點的PDU傳輸之狀態以輔助RNC操作。由於B節點不知道PDU的SN,因此B節點無法直接傳送經傳輸的PDU的SN回到RNC,B節點會以如識別在B節點的PDU狀態之點陣圖來通知RNC關於PDU的傳輸狀態,該狀態可顯示已被清除及正等待傳輸的PDU、或PDU的數目。

在RLC重新傳輸的情況下進行B節點的清除功能的益處為降低傳輸延遲,其說明於下列實例。參考第5圖,使用根據本發明的清除功能,B節點清除緩衝,故具有SN=6-9的PDU被刪除,清除功能完成之後,B節點向RNC確認清除功能,且RNC接著從SN=3(亦即在UE遺漏的PDU)重新開始RLC傳輸,B節點接著接收具有SN=3的PDU,因沒有其他PDU在其前面,具有SN=3的經重新傳輸PDU較第2圖所示案例更為快速地被傳輸。在此實例中,於B節點已被清除後,具有SN=6-9的PDU由傳輸側的RLC再次被重新傳輸。
在傳送遺漏的PDU後,RNC立即以其最佳能力開始重新開始正常的PDU順序,或者其可等待直到確認清除及給出關於已清除PDU資訊的PDU清除狀態從B節點送出。
在第一替代方式中,未執行清除功能的確認,或是即使確認功能被執行,RNC未等待接收B節點清除功能之確認後即開始重新傳輸遺漏的PDU。B節點不僅在接收清除功能前清除已緩衝的PDU且在從RNC接收清除指令後會將最近接收的PDU傳送至UE。
在第二替代方式中,RNC等待,直到清除確認從B節點送出。若該確認亦包含B節點中的資料區塊傳輸狀態,則RNC可使用該資訊以確定於何處重新開始PDU傳輸。
參考第6圖,示出根據本發明的替代方法70。除了無清除資訊確認及無B節點送至RNC的PDU狀態外,此方法70類似於第4圖所示的方法50。

Claims (12)

  1. 無線電網路控制器(RNC)方法,包括:至少一裝置,被配置為傳送與一高速下鏈分享頻道(HS-DSCH)關聯的一資料訊框至一節點B,其中該資料訊框包括一資訊元素,該資訊元素請求清除在該節點B的一傳輸優先順序佇列中與一使用者設備(UE)關聯的所有封包資料單元(PDU)。
  2. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述的方法,其中該訊息是回應於該UE的一HS-DSCH胞元變化而被傳輸。
  3. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述的方法,其中該訊息是回應於一無線電鏈路控制(RLC)重置而被傳輸。
  4. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述的方法,其中該UE及該節點B以一確認模式(AM)進行通訊,以確保封包資料單元(PDU)的依序遞送。

  6. 一種節點B,包括:一傳輸優先順序佇列,被配置用於儲存等待傳輸至一使用者設備(UE)的複數個封包資料單元(PDU);至少一裝置,被配置為從一無線電網路控制器(RNC)接收與一高速下鏈分享頻道(HS-DSCH)關聯的一資料訊框,其中該資料訊框包括一資訊元素,該資訊元素請求清除在該傳輸優先順序佇列中與該UE關聯的所有PDU;以及該至少一裝置被配置為從該傳輸優先順序佇列中清除與該UE關聯的所有PDU。
