Abstract

The sealed (5) closure is for a container (1) having a lid (2) which is secured by a clamp ring (3). The ring (3) has a vertically downward extending skirt (4) whilst the lid is dished to a depth (12) approximately level with the lower end of the skirt. The upper end (11) of the ring may be bent inward into a horizontal plane extending to approximately the vertical inner wall portion of the dished lid. The ring may have an upwardly stepped flange portion. The dished bottom (12) of the lid may have an annular depression (8) to increase its rigidity.
