Abstract

628,118. Powder receptacles and distributers. BAKER, R. D. June 5, 1946, No. 17027. [Classes 18 and 66] A powder receptacle 1 has a main tray 2 with holes 3 near its periphery, a traylike shield 6 that covers the holes and has a central opening 7 and a clamping ring 11 that has a screw-thread connection with the bowl neck 13 and clamps the trays thereto by means of lips 5, 9. The upper end of the wall 8 of the shield 6 is formed with an annular ledge 10 that serves as a seating both for a skirt 12 of the clamping ring 11 and for the rim of a skirt 15 of a domed cover 14. The screw-thread 19 of the ring 11 is provided on a liner 18 pressed into or permanently connected to the ring wall 20 and having an inwardly extending flange 21 that bears on the lip 9 of the shield 6. When the receptacle is inveted or shaken, powder passes through holes 3 and settles in the centre of tray 2 from which it can be removed, e.g. by a powder puff that may be accommodated between the shield and the cover.
