Abstract

상이한 광섬유의 단부에 각각 부착된 두개의 페룰들을 수용하는 안내 실린더를 포함하고, 상기 페룰들은 이들을 그 양쪽 측부로부터 안내 실린더 내에 삽입하여 그들의 광학 축들을 정렬시킨 상태로 서로에 연결되는 구성의, 광섬유 커넥터 어댑터가 개시되어 있다. 이 어댑터는 조립 중에 서로를 내부적으로 끼워넣기에 적합한 외부 및 내부 중공체를 갖는다. 각각의 중공체는 상기 페룰이 안내 실린더 내에 삽입될 때 까지 그 단부에 페룰을 구비한 광섬유 커넥터가 외부 중공체 내에 억지 끼워맞춤되게 해주는 안내 실린더를 둘러싸서 보유 지지해주는 원통형 홀더를 갖는다.
내부 중공 튜브는 다른 광섬유의 단부에 부착된 하나의 페룰을 내부 중공체의 개방측 상의 안내 실린더 안으로 억지 끼워맞춤할 수 있게 해준다.

제2도는 어댑터와 광섬유 플러그가 함께 끼워졌을 때의 종단면도.
제3도는 어댑터의 외부 중공체의 평면도.

Claims (3)

  1. 일반적으로 광학 축들을 따라 한쌍의 대향하는 광섬유들을 상호 접속하기 위한 어댑터 조립체에 있어서, 각각의 광섬유는 그 각각의 페룰 내에 종단 접속되고, 페룰들 중 하나는 하나의 광섬유 커넥터에 장착되고 다른 페룰은 광섬유 플러그에 장착되며, 상기 어댑터 조립체는 커넥터 및 플러그를 그 양쪽 개방 단부에서 수용하기 위한 이중 단부형 리셉터클로서 구성되고, 또한 내부 중공체를 외부 중공제의 내부에 끼워넣을 수 있도록 구성된 외부 및 내부 중공체와, 두개의 폐룰들을 수용하여 정렬하기 위해 어댑터 조립채 내에 장착된 안내 실린더와, 상기 중공체들을 함께 고정하기 위채 외부 및 내부 중공체 사이에 제공되는 상호 결합 수단과, 어댑터의 한측부에 있는 광섬유 커넥터를 그 폐룰의 단부가 안내 실린더 내에 위치된 상태로 해제가능하게 장착하기 위한 수단과, 어댑터의 대향 측부에 있는 플러그를 그 폐룰의 단부가 안내 실린더 내에 위치된 상태로 해제가능하게 장착하기 위한 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 어댑터 조립체.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 광섬유 플러그는 환형 칼라가 연장되어 있는 원통형 기부를 포함하고, 플러그를 해제가능하게 장착하기 위한 수단은 환형 칼라를 맞물어서 상기 플러그를 어댑터 조립체 내에 유지시키기 위해 내부중공체로부터 연장하는 적어도 하나의 래칭 아암을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 어댑터 조립체.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 환형 칼라는 그 외측부 상에 형성된 대칭 회전축을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 어댑터 조립체.
