Description
Claims (10)
- 스크린(a second)상에 영상(an image)을 디스플레이하기 위한 장치 있어서, 투사 렌즈(a projection lens)와; 상기 투사 렌즈로부터의 스트레이 반사(stray reflection)가 상기 스크린에 도달하지 못하도록 실질적으로 억제하는 수단을 포함하는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 스트레이 반사를 실질적으로 억제하는 수단은, 상기 영상의 소스(a source) 및 상기 투사 렌즈 사이에 배치된 1/4 파장 플레이트(a quarter wave plate)를 포함하는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 주위 광(ambient light)이 상기 스크린을 조명하지 못하도록 억제하는 수단을 더 포함하는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 주위 광을 억제하는 수단은, 상기 스크린상에 배치된 1/4 파장 플레이트와 편광 막(polarizing film)을 구비하고, 상기 편광 막은 상기 스크린의 가시면상에 배치되고, 상기 1/4 파장 플레이트는 상기 편광 막과 상기 스크린 사이에 배치되는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 디스플레이 장치는, 광원(a light source)과; 광을 제1 및 제2 편광으로 분할(split)시키기 위한 편광빔 스플리팅 수단(a polarizing beam splitting mean)과, 상기 광원으로부터의 광을 상기 편광 빔 스플리팅 수단으로 지향(direct)하는 수단과; 상기 제1 편광의 상기 편광빔 스플리팅 수단으로부터의 광을 다수의 컬러(a plurality of color)로 분할시켜 각각의 컬러를 분리된 출력면(a separte output face)을 통해 지향시키고, 제각기의 출력면을 통해 상기 프리즘으로 되반사된 상기 다수의 컬러를 재조합시키기 위한 프리즘 조립체(a prism assembly)와, 상기 프리즘의 각 출력면을 통해 지향된 상기 컬러화된 광의 편광을 회전시키고 상기 회전되고 컬러화된 쾅을 상기 제각기의 출력면을 통해 상기 프리즘 조립체로 되반사시켜 상기 프리즘 조립체내에서 재조합하기 위해 상기 프리즘 조립체의 각 출력면에 인접하여 배치된 공간 광 변조 수단(spatial light modulating means)을 더 구비하되, 상기 편광 빔 스플리팅 수단은 상기 프리즘 조립체로부터 자신으로 지향된 상기 재조합되고 컬러화된 광을 제1 및 제2 편광으로 분할시키고 상기 제2 편광의 광을 상기 투사 렌즈로 지향시키는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 공간 광 변조 수단은 액정 광 밸브 조립체(a liquid crystal light valve assembly)를 포함하는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 프리즘 조립체는 상기 조립체의 내부적으로 위치된 두 개의 컬러 분리 표면(color separating surface)을 형성하는 세 개의 고상 유리 프리즘(solid glass prisms)으로 구성되는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 편광 빔 스플리팅 수단은 상기 빔 스플리팅 수단의 내부적으로 편광 분리 표면을 형성하는 두 개의 고상 유리 프리즘으로 구성되는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 광원으로부터의 광을 상기 편광 빔 스플리팅 수단으로 지향시키는 상기 수단은 자외선 및 적외선 광을 필터링(filter out)시키는 수단과 상기 편광 빔 스플리팅 수단으로 지향된 광에 균일한 광강도(uniform light intensity)를 제공하는 수단으로 구비하는 조명 조립체(an illumination assembly)를 포함하는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서, 스트레이 반사를 실질적으로 억제하는 상기 수단은, 상기 투사 렌즈와 상기 편광 빔 스플리팅 수단 사이에 배치된 1/4 파장 플레이트를 포함하는 디스플레이 장치.※ 참고사항 : 최초출원 내용에 의하여 공개하는 것임.
