Claims (10)
- 보우더(3)와 셀을 형성한 2면-평행 지지판(1,2)과, 셀속에 정유전성 애니스트로피, 키랄 첨가제와 함께 충입된 네마틱 액정(5)과, 지지판(1,2)의 내면에 위치한 전극층(6,7)과, 방위층상의 액정의 국부광축이 상기 면판에 관하여 5°이상의 경사각을 가지는 것으로 적어도 하나 이상이 인접 액정분자와 일직선상되는 위에 놓이는 방위층(8,9)과, 광이 적어도 하나의 편측기를 통해 두번째 표시장치에 인입, 인출되는 형태로 배열된 적어도 하나 이상의 편측기(10)로 구성된 액정표시장치에 있어서, 상기 지지판(1,2) 사이의 거리가 10μm 이하이며, 상기 셀내의 액정(5)의 전체 비틀림의 크기 ø가 180°보다 같거나 크고 360°보다는 작으며, 액정(5)의 층두께(d)와 피치(p) 사이의 비의 크기가 0.50과 같거나 또는 더 크고, 0.95와 같거나 작음을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 복굴절율(Δn)과 층두께(d)의 적은 0.60μm와 1.40μm사이에 있으며, 양호하게는 0.80μm와 1.20μm사이에 있음을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제2항에 있어서, 셀내에서의 액정(5)의 비틀림각의 크기가 240°와 300°사이에 있으며, 양호하게는 270°임을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제3항에 있어서, 액정(5)의 유전성 애니소트로피가 5와 같거나 이보다 더 큼을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 다른 방위층상의 경사각은 5°보다 작음을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 단지 하나의 전면편파기(10)와 금속성을 확산반사하는 반사기(12)(13)가 후면 지지판(2)뒤에 배치되고, 전면 편파기(10)의 진동방향이 20°와 70°사이의 크기, 양호하게는 30°와 60°사이의 크기를 가지는 전면방위층(8)의 바위방향과 각을 만듬을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 전면편파기(10)와 후면편파기(11)가 제공되고, 상기 전면편파기(10)의 진동방향이 전면방위층(8)의 방위방향과 제1각(β)를 만들며, 후면편측기(11)의 진동방향이 후면방위층(9)의 방위방향과 제2각(γ)를 만들며, 상기 각(β,γ)의 크기가 20°와 70°사이, 양호하게는 30°와 60°사이에 놓임을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제7항에 있어서, 금속성을 확산반사하는 반사기(12)가 후면편측기(11)뒤에 배치됨을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제7항에 있어서, 제1각(β)과 제2각(γ)의 합이 대략 ±90°와 같거나 또는 대략 0°와 같으며, 상기 각은 입사관의 방향에서 시계방향센스의 "정"값으로써 계수됨을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 스페이서(4)는 표시장치의 관찰영역위에 배치됨을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.※ 참고사항 : 최초출원 내용에 의하여 공개하는 것임.
